This video made me realize that I know a lot more Russian words than I thought I did. I'm just having some trouble piecing them together and using conjugations right now, so speaking Russian in public is off the table [FOR NOW] lol. Soon enough.

Try talking with natives on the app HelloTalk. Last Fall, I started really speaking Russian after lots of texting and voice messages, then setting up voice/video calls with native users, and not being afraid to make a fool of myself occasionally. As a result, right now I'm waking up in Yerevan, Armenia with my beautiful Russian fiancee. If you think you know a lot of Russian words, I practically guarantee you're ready to start now.

I'm a beginner in learning Russian and I just thought I'd ask, it seems like conjugations are a big deal for Russian. Can you tell me a little about them?
@zeinana27512 жыл бұрын
@@thedanceninja Lol, I can’t tell if you’re asking me or Fedor [the owner of the page] but they’re just part of the laws surrounding the Russian language. It involves the changing of words in accordance to gender and would I say ‘situation ‘¿ I can’t say much more lol, I don’t want to give you wrong information, I’m pretty much a beginner as well.

Same lol, I thought I barely knew Russian until I saw his "Opinion on books video" (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLKddayDxt_Tdnk.html&pp=iAQB) I was surprised to see that I knew quite a few words (I think it was around 10:00 where I started understanding every other word), it's just that my brain isn't fast enough YET to be able to keep up with a normal paced speech

I am on old English teacher = Я старый учитель английского языка. I studied a bit of Russian " back in the day", but I have never taken it to a productive level. The guy who made these videos really knows what he's doing. He speaks at a reasonable rate which allows you to catch a bit of meaning at whatever level you have already attained. His idea of using English and/or Russian subtitles is brilliant. It allows adults to take advantage of a higher skill (reading) which we already have in our native language. We can then link the weaker skill (listening) from the Russian language. Finally, we can imitate his speech to practice articulation and fluency (our weakest skill). I have used a similar process to great effect with my adult students of English online. Of course, nothing can replace the back-and-forth of a real conversation, But this method can build your confidence and reinforce the skills without the pressure of a real-time conversation. Then when the real opportunity comes along, you can relax and enjoy it. Or at least, sweat it less.

I have been using Babbel to learn Russian, I really want to visit one day and my ultimate bucket list dream would be a little house in the Russian countryside with a giant vegetable garden & animals😆 but I am getting way ahead of myself. I notice I can understand it fairly well(of course I am a beginner) but I cannot spell in Cyrillic for anything! Its annoying as I tend to be the spelling police in English (yeah,I'm that awful person😊) I also can't roll my "R"s but I'm hopeful. I love Russian language & the country looks beautiful.❤❤❤❤

I was so happy with how well the Yandex Maps and Yandex Metro apps worked when I was in Moscow. I never got lost or got on the wrong train in a city I've never been to before. Russian app developers are on their game!

I think, that Fedor looks more masculine and brutal, with such weight. There is a saying in Russia: "There should be a lot of good man" (this is about weight) 😜
