Absolutely AMAZING transformation!!! Gives me hope that one day we'll get our home built! I can't believe you hand stenciled that whole wall!!! When you were explaining to me what it looked like before, I couldn't quite grasp it (I have zero visual-imagination capabilities!), but now that I see it.......wow. It doesn't even look like the same place. You have created not just a house, but a really gorgeous, unique, cozy HOME.

Just happened thru initially with the relocation service..I used to live in SLO..you mentioned that part of the world as a comparison to your present location. Several people have asked my about my time in Spain several years back. Of course, US citizens have only 90 days in every 180 days to remain in Spain. So, if they want to live in a Spanish environment, either Costa Rica or Mexico are options. But, few consider Panama..that said when the conversation either in person or online comes up, I recommend looking at Panama. Residence rather easy, 3 hours from Miami..weather in the highlands excellent, little crime (unlike so many areas in the US) and of course, the Spanish history. Grew up in Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach areas and aside from the cost of housing, the social issues there are very challenging. SLO is an awesome part of CA. I have a close friend in RPV - a little too close to the landslides recently. Panama is my happy place 😊

Hi Patty! What an amazing job you did on your renovations. I wish I had found your casita sooner as it would have been the perfect place to stay during our upcoming visit Feb 1-3. I’ve enjoyed your videos and have a lot more to watch. Perhaps we’ll run into you on the streets of El Valle. I’ll keep my eyes open for a yellow trike!

Thank you!!! I love how the house turned out, and the garden is such a work in progress. I hope you enjoy your visit to El Valle. The visitor's center is a great place to stop in for geological and cultural history. There are eBike tours, hiking guides, mineral springs and more - if you want any suggestions, please ask.

@@Pattybluehayes how nice of you! We decided to splurge a little and stay at the Golden Frog. We won’t have a car though so perhaps we’ll use their bikes or taxi to get around. Or just hoof it! If you know some easier trails that are near town I would love to hear your suggestions. And a vegan restaurant? Thanks!

@@michaelbiasini7215There is a nice hike right behind Golden Frog. It’s a little steep, but a great view. They will tell you. Eat there! Great food. La Ranita and La Divina Commedia have vegan options. Also, the Square Trees Trail is easy and beautiful, located at Hotel Campestre not far from The Golden Frog. 😊

Very nice Patty. We finished the island in the kitchen and it's stunning. It's about 4 inches higher than your average counters - as we are tall... or we used to be. lol. Am also having my carpenter add some shelves above my computer, in my bedroom/office. The neighbors next door have been demo-ing their floor and their walls for 3 weeks. The noise is horrendous; makes me want a country house. What we found was, even with a driver, as we both do not have Panamanian driver licenses, I fall asleep just going to Coronado and back. Am 69, almost 70 and I can sleep on a dime. Am still looking for something in the interior though my best friend and partner, Will, suggests, "We are just too old to invest in anything else." He may be right but I can dream. We'll see. After having to live though all the neighbors construction, I might be able to convince him after... to a house or condo in the interior.
