Thank you!! Planning to get the same pool that you have and saw some bad reviews talking about rusting so your video is a life saver🤣🤣

So happy to find this recommendation. We use a saltwater system and have found that we get 3 seasons out of our Intex frames before the rust is so bad, we need to toss it. I've always thought it to be a shame since the liner is still in good shape! I've wrapped the T-joints with silicone tape and that has lessened the rusting there, but it's a lot of work and we've found the horizontal poles (that slip through the top of the liner) rust anyway. This year I paid 3x what I used to pay for an Intex Pool so I'd really like it to last LONGER than 3 years!! Going to try this product!

@@savannahodom8143 I'm not worried about the legs of my ladder, as we take it out of the pool after every use. I'm more concerned with the "T" joints and the horizontal poles that slide into the top of the liner. Are those parts now showing rust on your's, even though you treated them?

Sounds like you'd save a lot of money if you would use chlorine instead of salt

They rust from the inside, out, so this only delays the agony. All that's needed is a slightly smaller diameter, strong PVC pipe, which is pushed inside the rusting sections as they fail. Easy!

Definitely going to be getting this. Thanks for the suggestion. Only thing I want to check first is if it has oil in it as I have heard that oil or an oil based lubricant used for this will break down the pool liner . I guess the wiping it on would mostly eliminate that problem though?

Is this similar to the dry lube stuff for chains? That stuff has a waxy coating. I use it quite a bit on stuff I don't want to get oily but needs lubricated.

Since the ladders on these pools sit in water constantly and you wouldn’t want this chemical in the water is it best to remove the ladder from the water when not using the pool?

Yes. Always good to remove the ladder when the pool is not in use anyway as a safety measure

Have you tried rustoleum rubberized undercoating? We are going to try this on our parts.

Hi. Sounds like it would work but be careful as the coating make be too thick to allow for parts to fit well.

@@joev1779 We got it, and everything works fine. Next spring, I will have to change the tarp underneath and most likely revel the dirt for the floor and put the legs even with the ground. Sure is a lot of work, but I love being in the water.

I ordered this and applied it to every square inch of the frame and ladder BEFORE assembling. I Used a rag to ensure it was all covered. Brand new pool has only been up for months ladder legs constantly has rust particles pooling on the bottom of pool and all joints are rusting. Yes, I do use a salt water system. I wouldn't give this product a 1 star, unfortunately 😕
@joev17792 жыл бұрын
You applied to the ladder? Did you reapply every time you used the ladder and removed from the pool. Ladders are really tough to keep rust free. I don't recommend using this product on ladders as it will leach into the pool water.

A little surface rust won't hurt. Just lightly sand it with 600 grit sandpaper. Then apply the spray and lightly wipe with a towel

The only real solution is to feed a slightly smaller diameter PVC pipe inside the rusting one. It works perfectly and is a permanent repair. The same can be done for the legs.

@Joe V is your pool chlorine only or a saltwater generator too? I am a pilot and have my plane sprayed with a aircraft specific solution to prevent rust. Love to know the details with the T-9. Did you still get rust, how long has your pool lasted, etc? Thanks.
@joev17792 жыл бұрын
Hi. This was a pool we installed. It's a saltwater pool.. using T9 prevents rust almost 100%. It's an incredible product but you gotta use it 2-3 times per season to coat the poles
