3+ years later this pool has been standing since this video! No rust on the repaired joints and has gone through full summer use as well as the weather year-round for 3+ years now! Anyone that wants the sleeves please contact us through this page: interbiznw.com/2017/07/31/intex-pool-repair/ and we can get you a quote for the number of sleeves needed for your specific pool. It by far pays for itself vs buying another pool for it to ONLY last another year anyway!

Thanks for the idea ! We have the same exact issue with same exact pool !!! 8 horizontal beams and 3 Ts turned to rust dust after 2 seasons! I'm filing a complaint with the better business bureau!

How do you 3D print and make the new brackets for the new fence supports you installed? Our 22x52 round was left up bc my husbands friend left his up 6 yrs no prob. We’ve already filled and balanced the water for the year. I’ve now noticed that one of the horizontal beams rusted a hole through the top. We haven’t had it a full year yet! Because of that I’m not sure it will even make it the summer. I was thinking of painting flotrol on the area immediately surrounding it and also in the interior around the hole then putting a small amount of bondo in the hole to hold it the rest of the summer. I think your fix is an excellent idea and one people should do themselves and just buy the Intex liner! I think we may be using your repair idea ourselves.

I have vertical poles rusting out and was considering using chain link fence posts to replace those legs. How well did the conduit you used for your vertical legs hold up?
@jamieowens31802 жыл бұрын
Worked great, I think the wall thickness of the EMT(Conduit) is about the same as fence posts or maybe even thicker. But its not a easy fix since the T brackets had to be modified and welded for the new pipe to fit inside, BUT its a permanent fix that's for sure.
@inglism144 жыл бұрын
What diameter fence post did you get?
@jamieowens31804 жыл бұрын
1-5/8 in, but they won't fit correctly without the plastic sleeves. They are slightly smaller and the sleeves make up the difference and make them fit snug so there is way less movement than the normal pool setup which between that and the plastic buffering the 2 metals, eliminates scraping the paint off resulting in more rust.

We have the next size up from this one. We replaced with pvc pipe so no sleeves are needed. Now we have the issue of the the other posts!😭

@@angelahamilton8689 I was able to find a pool that was 18x48 inches. I replaced all the poles and put a 4 inch brick under each pole. These poles are made different from the ones that all rusted for us. They also have new poles on their website now for $8.00 a pole. This guy used a 3D printer to make the appropriate angle pieces between each pole for the railing.

My 24’ Intex pool leg broke how do I replace it with out draining? Had to have water trucked in.
@rafaelcordeiro57656 жыл бұрын
what do you think caused the rust in the first place?
@jamieowens31806 жыл бұрын
Water collecting between the pipes and sitting because they are horizontal. The pipes rub together when the water in the pool moves causing the paint/powder coating to get rubbed away leaving bare metal. Then the water in those sections rusts out the bare metal.

Wouldn‘t it help to take precautions to stop water entering the horizontal support eg by using a seal/gasket ?
@TRUMP_WAS_RIGHT_ABOUT_EVRYTHNG5 жыл бұрын
Horrible metal with even worse paint
@jamieowens31804 жыл бұрын
@@zeejimi4044 Its constantly moving and shifting when people are in the pool. The poles are not 100% stable even when the pool is perfectly level due to the water shifting. I don't think any type of seal would hold up long to the constant grinding, which is what ground the paint/powder coating off in the first place. Re coating/painting them, and then protecting them with the plastic sleeve that fits tight takes out the scraping off the paint/coating issue.
