I recently bought one and I live in Minnesota, we get a lot of snow. Do u know why it keeps shutting off every 10 secs whenever I'm using it in a lot of snow? It's annoying, the fault indication light goes red and then it shuts down.

My friends call me weird: “I never read the assembly instructions” they say. Then, later, they have to go back and redo their work. Truth be told, initial assembly is one of my favorite parts about buying a new piece of garage gear. Great job, again, JB and looking forward to seeing this and the other machine in action.

Major shortcoming on this unit: you cannot swivel the chute while the auger/impeller is running. Every area that I remove snow from requires re-aiming the discharge during each pass. Instead, you have to release the auger control, swivel the chute, then wait for the auger to spool up again, which is not a trivial amount of time. I honestly would not have bought this unit had that been disclosed.

Hey Mark! That is definitely a short coming with the unit! Hopefully they can rectify this issue. Thanks for sharing bud!

Nice. Can't wait to see how the machines perform compared to each other and very interested to see how well the battery model performs in different snows (heavy, wet stuff like we usually get here in MA). Can you track performance in different storms this season and perhaps track the maintenance cost over time?

This snow blower’s micro switches (used for drive and auger) are complete garbage. Every one of these fails. I’ve had to replace mine 4 times now - in one season. Flimsy plastic and parts normally used in a PC. Not outdoors. The newer red model uses the same flawed switches. Also requires you to stop the auger to turn the chute - madness.

Just got one. Excited to use in first storm. Battery, fully charged, won’t last more than 15-25 minutes (in 4 inches of light powder). So much for battery minute claim. Customer service puts you on hold for an hour, then hands up (all 3 times). Stuck with a $900 piece of junk (that said, it worked fairly ok for those 25 minutes). Oh, and pins broke 5 minutes in despite nothing being clogged or in the auger.

Currently trying to work with them to at least get the battery replaced, and an additional one sent (that way it at least meets the product description they provided [example: clears 18 car driveway on one charge??? Lol! But I at least thought it’d clear my 4ish car driveway, but even that took 3 charges one day, and a 4th the following day). Hoping they’ll make this right so I don’t have to dispute the entire charge on my card. The auger and the self-propelled drive require the spring loaded switches to be held closed, so they both stop as soon as the lever is released. In addition, the master on/off switch is right there on the panel in front of the operator. The safety key is more for disabling the unit so a child can't play with daddy's toy.

I’d always be curious about how one of these bad boys would act in northern ontario. Some people have luck with the battery powered lawn mowers but I haven’t seen a huge use in or demand in battery snowblowers. I work for the railway and in the winter when it’s 30 or 40 below our batteries can’t hold a charge worth poop, our hydraulics don’t want to work and we usually rely on our 2cycle or 4 Cycle gas powered equipment which even then doesn’t want to run! 🥶
