@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
@@harleyme3163 You are right in that we are made in God's image and likeness, but I think you are missing some key elements. Firstly, God is love, and love gives the other freedom to choose. God gave man the ability to choose to love Him in return or to reject Him and disobey His requests. The aspects of sin that you referred to are the result of man choosing to deny and disobey God. But, God continues to love us despite the fact that we abuse our free will and scorn Him with our attitudes and actions. He loves you just as much as any other person ever born. If you choose to disrespect Him, He will quietly let you, because He loves you and gave you the ability to make your own choices. Love allows that. Maybe someday you will experience that love as I have and will want to be the best child of God you can be by offering Him your love and respect rather than something less. God bless you.

It is not good to wish or rejoice in harm to any person. God loves every person, including hunters who are helping to keep ecosystems balanced and healthy seeing as high populations of herbivores can actually destroy ecosystems and ruin crucial habitat needed by other species to survive.

Your God doesn't seem to worry about animals then?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
It's not that the Almighty Creator doesn't care about animals. He just cares more about our salvation from sin and he'll, and He will allow the slaughter of animals if that will help us be saved. The point is, God cares more about people and their salvation than animals, and it sounds to me, based on your comment, that you have that important detail backwards. God bless you.

You are now my bow sensei. I've pretty much quit watching other bow training videos since I've found your channel. Your methodical and no nonsense is refreshing. I do have a question oh great bow master. What is a good wrist style release? I bought a trufire x caliper II and I really dont care for it. It's not smooth at all no matter how I adjust the release pressure. I'd like something 50 dollars or under but decent. I know releases can cost as much as bows but I cant afford a high dollar release. I'd really like 1 that closes automatically as mine now you have to manually click closed and I don't like that it seems like another place to fail. Thanks for taking your time to make these awesome videos. God bless

I bought a bow 4 years ago. Just brought it in to be tuned, because I haven’t shot much, and they had it all out of whack. I had so much trouble drawing it, because my draw length was too long, pieces were loose, out of alignment, etc. It’s no wonder I had so much trouble and got discouraged. Not to mention they never showed me how to anchor, posture, form, technique, etc. Glad that store closed a couple years later. You could walk in there and stand and the owner and employees would ignore you for like 10 minutes of you standing there, until finally they got annoyed and would ask if you need something. Lmao. When they finally closed, and were selling everything off as fast as they could, it was pretty ironic. If they had that attitude, before they were closing, they would probably still be in business. The new shop, and owner is super helpful, corrected my form, showed me a bunch of stuff, explained what he was doing to my bow, what they had screwed up, why he was changing it, etc. Apparently people drive from all over the state to see him, and now he’s setup shop in our town, so we’re blessed! Keep making videos, because a lot of people don’t have access to anyone that knows what they’re doing. Even if they are “trained professionals.”

Hi. Just subscribed to your channel. Great tips. I'm a dedicated bow hunter in South Africa and it's difficult sometimes to get to a pro shop. My Bowtech Guardian (2007 model) is still my go to bow for hunting, be it stalking or tree stands or blinds. It's just so quiet and relatively maintenance free. How often do you recommend replacing strings and cables?

I've watched some of your videos and I've learned A few things! I have a question and thought maybe you could help. So on my target I have a bottom bullseye a middle bullseye and a top. I can shoot the bottom one just fine with accuracy but if I go up for some reason I just can't get accurate shots when I lift the bow to shoot a higher bullseye is it maybe because my bow isn't set up right or my release is too short? I'm shooting a compound bow. Or how could I fix my technique?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
Most likely, when you lift your arm you are doing things differently. You could be altering your way of aiming by a slight bit that you are not even realizing, or you could be having other muscle memory problems. One thing you could try is aim at the bottom target, and rather than lift your arm, keep everything exactly the same and pivot at your hips. so your upper body is locked with your arm that holds the bow and the way you are anchoring, then pivot up at the waist, then aim and shoot from that position. It may feel a little awkward for you at first because you are not used to doing that, but if you start hitting better then it is an indication that when you lift your arm for aiming you are making changes in your anchoring and aiming that you previously didn't realize. Good luck and God bless.

The reason I asked mostly is because I do the exact same thing! The thing always gets in the way and, let's be honest, if have an arrow nocked onto my string, I'm not tilting my bow upside down anytime soon! I always thought I was a little crazy and my rest looked "weird," but if Sean McVeigh does it then I guess I'm not so odd after all. :) Thanks so much for responding!

Do you have any suggestions for shooting adjustments needed for winter clothing and gloves? Thanks!!!
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
You have to practice with all of those clothes on and see where you are hitting. Having a heavy glove actually does the equivalent of shortening your draw length because the bow handle is now farther from your face than it would be without the glove. The good this is that this allows you to slightly bend your elbow so that the bow comes closer to your face and you can still achieve your same normal anchor point. Having the slightly bent elbow helps to keep your clothes away from the string when you are shooting. Also, make sure you wear an arm guard to help keep your clothes out of the path of the string when you are shooting.

I've had my PSE Stinger about two weeks now. I've spent about 10 hours at the range in those two weeks. My sight, rest and anchor point feel correct. The peep sight was enlarged and adjusted. I can consistently hit inside the blue at 20 yards with more than 50% in the red and yellow. My problem is my shots are still not consistent (scattered) or hitting center. I might hit the center once every four shots. I am now focusing on my form and releases. I notice I hit best when I concentrate on keeping both eyes open and the keeping sight on the target through the release. Seems I am circling the bullseye and releasing off center?

just a little secret about shooting, no one ever covers this in tips on shooting. every single time I shoot my bow, rifle, or pistol there is one thing in common with all the shots. I let it surprise me when it fires. I don't want to know when it's going to fire. that allows you to flinch. if it surprises you, then the arrow/ bullet will be long gone before you can mess the shot up. squeeze slowly and never just your finger. I squeeze my whole hand slow and promise I can shoot with the best.
@brianwynn7935
@brianwynn7935 7 жыл бұрын
I shoot back tension and the wrist wrapped trigger release. I shoot back tension when I shoot target with friends but the wrist wrap is for hunting. the biggest thing though is I always want the bow to surprise me when I shoot to eliminate "pulling" or flinching prior to the arrow leaving the bow. great video!! I just wanted to add that one thing that improved my shooting capability.

Hey Sean, have you ever used the portable bow vices? The ones that are around 30 or 40 bucks and can be put into a backpack. With this whole virus thing, it’s just not feasible to drive to the nearest pro shop to get my bow worked on, I need to replace or fix my peep sight. I can order one of those and have it shipped to my door, I just don’t know if they work good enough to do the task.

I did use the bowmaster, like this one amzn.to/2KdxnwU but mine has the hooks for on the end like this one does amzn.to/34TmpX3 I used mine for many years, and I also take it with me on long distance hunts in case of an emergency. I will be honest though and that it makes me very nervous every time I use it. I get it off the bow as quick as possible after the work is done to try to minimize something going wrong. It will get you by, but it isn't the best. I saved up my money for a few years and then got a professional bow press.

Hey Sean I have a question. When I was out bowhunting last year in a blind, I tried using my range finder on a deer outside of the blind. I had that thin layer of mush on the windows of ur blind which didn't allow my range finder to range the deer. Do u have any recommendations on rangefinders that can range threw mush on blind and thick brush?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
I don't have a specific model in mind that allows you to range through solids. They typically utilize technologies that bounce signals off of objects and come back to the unit to identify the distance of that object. What you may want to do is open that window right when you set up and range a few objects and keep them as reference points and then put the window back up.

Shoulder down Tammy. Allowing the bow shoulder to creep up is bad, it involves muscles unnecessarily and it can't be repeated consistently from shot to shot. Nice and relaxed (stacking bones) is the best way to gain consistency and repeatability in the shot.
