I don't fingerpick much, but when I do I usually use what I call the crab technique. Which is just using my thumb and index. I've been using picks for 17/18 years and it's tough to get over that habit.

I know the crab technique well! :) Paul Gilbert has done that a lot. I'm not sure if that's all he does, but I remember him talking about that being how he mostly fingerpicks. It can certainly be a tough habit to break!

Sorry, just one note: P, I, M and A fingers come from Italian, not Spanish. They respectively mean Pollice, Indice, Medio and Anulare
