Amazing video!! I’m a beginner with no formal instrumental background whatsoever and trying to learn on my own. Thanks for the exercises and breakdown of the basics and fundamentals. Exactly the kind of content I’ve been looking for.

To elevate your guitar skills, try playing in the dark or with your eyes closed. Many great guitar players do this during live performances. It helps you "feel" the music and avoid playing mechanically. While practice is essential, it's important not to become robotic. Close your eyes and channel your musical heroes! Your mind will naturally learn to visualize the neck. I do this regularly, and it has led to some of my most rewarding guitar experiences. Playing live with my eyes closed also helps me concentrate on my performance and tune out distractions from the audience.

This is a great point! Anything to get you to focus on the actual music more as opposed to the technique of playing it is really helpful! Thanks for checking out the video!

I use this approach, CONSTRAINED LEARNING APPROACH as a submission grappling coach. Ive been applying this approach to music and guitar playing as well. Theres a ton of research on this approach, coupled with ecological psychology and ecological dynamics (systems).

a huge thing as well is thinking about chord arpeggios around each chord rather than just oh this progression is in this key(even though most songs rarely stay in one key).

Or maybe I’m being dumb lol it just looks like the piezo is in the active position but I could be wrong
@joshh231722 күн бұрын
Wait… I love you’re playing! But how did you get the sound right in the beginning with the piezo pick up fully engaged? Yes I own two of these beautiful instruments in the ball reserve models.. You must’ve recorded over I’d imagine?
@PaulWarrenMusic21 күн бұрын
Thanks! Did a few takes for multiple angles and I missed the switch during that one part. Good eye! Used the studio recording for more consistency in the sound, especially given that I missed that pickup switch, ha. Thanks for checking out the video!

Your absolutely right , I know santana and Stevie ray voun, especially Robin Trower, didn't spend hours learning entirely every scale the just concentrated on a few notes and made them musical and beautiful , thank you so much , for your inspiration and info,

Really excellent lesson and idea. Here's an idea that came to me while watching - choose a backing track in a major key from YT. Then identify the relative minor pentatonic. Write all the notes of the pentatonic on cards. Put them face down and shuffle. Pick 3 or 4 at random. these will be your limited notes. Also, roll a dice. 1-5 tell you which of the 5 pentatonic positions to play from! If get 6 roll again lol) maybe roll twice and you have to play both those positions, tranisitoning seemlessly between them somehow! I dunno... heh. (cool guitar btw)

you ever hear someone whisliting or humming a guitar shred lololol nope.. the majority of the public need melodies that have repeating patterns. more ppl need to learn about the tricks to writing melodies and stop shredding and making pyscho complicated guitar stuff. not everyone has to be zack wylde or polyphia
