1 Hour of Racing is the only reason why I’m still playing FH5 haha. There is a lot of fun to be had there. It’s like playing Forza Motorsport but with all the customization and freedom of Horizon.

This is my first Forza game. I loved the campaign / story missions + hot wheels dlc and eliminator. Not much of a racer but you got some nice tips eg. event lab creators. Thank you so much. There is more in this game than I thought.

Another tip on the festival playlist - on first glance it looks like you need a lot of specific cars to complete the various races and pr events. But most are rewards from each other so don’t be put off, check out the rewards and plan your order to complete accordingly!

as someone who has spent the majority of their time playing the endgame of the horizon games, this is a great video. For me, one section stands out the most. Custom tracks are by far the coolest thing that this game has and I genuinely wish the system for tracks getting more recognition was better. I hate having to go to external, third party sources to have a hope of finding good user created events. They're out there, but nobody will ever find them through the random 7 events in a super 7 playthrough. thank you for providing an entire video series dedicated to supporting those that make great tracks!

Next Forza I would love to see Custom Races sorted by drive train. It kinda kills the fun for me when you get into some drifting and someone is running the AWD+Drag tires meta and triples the 2nd place score.

Best thing you can do is join a community. I'm with a large French and German community. We meet, get together, cruise, rp and mostly race. We always pick fun cars and classes though, car themes, and aim for fun and realism, rather than sweating it out. What FH5 lacks tho is immersion, if it has accessible houses, car dealers, features such as indicators, lights etc. it would be a much better open world playground

I really like collecting stuff, so, my first post game goal was to collect all the cars in the game and tunning them to the top of their stock class (save for the OPI Ford and the FE De Luxe) Now that I have them all, I am focusing on having one car for every bodykit on the game, for example, the Maxda RX-7 has 2 Widebody Kits and 4 aftermarket sets of Fenders, Spoilers and Sideskirts, so, I now have 6 Mazda RX-7, each with a different set of pieces and tunes. That, alongside the Auction House have been 90% of my post game experience, and when I'm done with that, I'm starting to do livery replicas of IRL cars like the EKS Audi Quattro, and probably return to Online racing

The main thing I do is make custom races for the big endurance races like The Goliath, The Colossus, etc. I change the time of day and weather for more variety when racing. It's how I grind money for cars and upgrades. Racing the Gauntlet with rain, at night, is a more fun & challenging experience than the stock version, IMO. This allows me to try infinite vehicle upgrades and tuning, too.

TeamWars is the only reason i still play this game, you wont get any other racing like it imo and the people there are such nice human beings. The 1hor community have done a smashing job at the way of racing they bring to horizon its amazing too see i often watch and I am very tempted to try a race soon. If you ever feel like you want too improve then Horizon Racing Academy is the place you need to be honestly that place has helped me get a few good times in rivals!

Eliminator is my favorite, but, also, because of how it comes up in the festival playlist, so it doesnt get stale...though i do hate how sometimes i do get eliminated at like 31! My favorite, favorite, favorite is the online trial actually. (stock showdown), wish an online mode could just be Stock Showdown Online.

Awesome guide, I was new towards the end of FH4 and could’ve done with this! Absolutely join a club, most are open to any level and you get extra xp and credits too. The club I’m in H5FB pick two rivals events per week to compete on. The racing academy is also awesome for improving driving skill, helped me to move to using clutch and much improved cornering (even if some courses will drive you crazy!)

this is a great list i have one thing to add however, learning how to tune, and i mean properly tune at least nearly as good as the likes of nalak bard suimin etc. The best thing on this list is by far rivals highly recommend also good mentioning 1hor teamwars and horizon academy

I mostly stick to Horizon Tours after doing the playlists.Here there is still ramming and bad driving,but much less than with open racing.I build,tune,paint and race....

I have started the franchise with Forza Horizon 4 and got it on launch week, my original save file has a lot of blemishes from being new to the franchise (although too bad I can't play the MS store version at all anymore, and I don't have money to get the Steam version), and that is probably something that will happen to all new players that plan to become much better in the future. I couldn't play it for very long because my GTX 670 had overheating issues so I couldn't play for long. I kinda forgot the game existed and came back to it over a few months later. I played FH3 afterwards, and have beat the game and both expansions, but unfortunately couldn't 100% the content before the game completely broke for no particular reason. Then I pre-ordered FH5 as I was very excited and now I have all the cars and EVERY accolade (except those stupid Creative ones that rely on popularity), and more money than I can even spend. All I have to do is the future content when it releases and anything in EventLab/multiplayer whenever I feel like it. I am now playing FH1 on Xenia and it is eerie how close it feels to even the newest entry, it simultaneously makes FH1 feel more modern and FH5 feel more dated... I really really hope FH6 makes a big change with the gameplay formula to coincide with the change in game engine as with FM8 (I know it's not called FM8 but idc) because I want this game to evolve and justify its continued stream of popularity, being one of the few racing franchises to stay relevant today.

I mostly do the playlist and rivals. Now, rivals leaderboards are still chock full of cheaters, even on D class cars. But still, I've gotten top 1% times on some of my favorite tracks, so that's pretty neat. PVP racing usually comes in two categories in my experience: ramming or pro. I'm not a rammer and try to race cleanly, BUT I am not good enough to join a pro "serious" community. I make too many mistakes to be a "sim racer" yet play too cleanly to succeed in the free-for-all mosh pit. I race with a wheel, so I have no chance anyway. So I don't race PVP, except as part of playlist. And I usually lose a LOT due to someone pushing me off the road just before a checkpoint. In fact, I think that has happened every race I've ever tried. If only the AI drivers were better, then I could practice racing in a pack without all the rammers, but alas, AI drivers are completely useless. They cheat and brake in the weirdest places.

Very informative video, cudos to you. Also, very good recommendations. I´d like to point out however one thing. I am a "veteran" FH player who also bought the FH5 game when it came out and completed every single thing within, had all the cars apart from one (out of over 600) and then about half a year ago switched computers and reinstalled the game. Then, more work came and did not had time to let off steam and play on an occasional basis. Reinstalled the game a few weeks ago only to find out that all my progress has diminished. Reading the forums, I did not have Steam cloud sync on..... Grinded through the game once more, only to realize I will never have all the cars again which I had before. And that saddens me, since a few of them I really enjoyed. And boy, don´t even get me started on the nerfed wheelspins. I wonder how new players feel when they find out what the OG players were recieving from those. So this time around I only play occasionally, however I wish I could get my progress back. Any recommendations how to get my joy back?

I have been playing the Forza horizon series since I was in middle school with FH3 and I pre ordered FH4 and played throughout its entire life through day 1. Loving both games I went into FH5 expected a ton of fun and a ton of things to do/hard challenges to complete. But when the game first dropped I had every car and every achievement in the first week which made me upset. Although I grinded every waking second I had to playing FH5 it was buggy and I was only doing it because I love the franchise and I had nothing else to play. I did not know about 1HoR or communities that have good players willing to race for a while which sounds very interesting and I will definitely be checking it out :) ( only reason I play rn is because of FOMO hahaha but I really want to get every accolade and every badge which I am probably going to do soon. )

As someone who surpassed 200 hours in this game, some of the races are very hard for me on any difficult above novice. I learned how to drift in this game, i mostly drive around and trying to earn the hard to find cars in the auction house

After entering the hall of fame I play the weekly playlist, have completed all achievements (except for winning the Eliminator) and slowly getting the accolades.

Really hoping the SVJ comes back soon. The only car I don’t have yet.

Thanks for this. I'm a decent player but I pull my hair out sometimes racing against people in cars that appear to be from a different performance class, like they are 5, 10 or sometimes 20 seconds faster in sprints than my decent tuned car or 2-3 seconds per lap on circuits. It's so stupid IMHO to have tunes which are closer to rocket ships than cars, it totally ruins noobs and the competitive spirit.

Hey Hoshi, when you can find the time, can you explain why in Horizon 5 when you use Auto assists such as Assisted Braking & Auto-Steering the front of the car starts to go back and fourth as it's following the Driving line while picking up speed? My little sister is enjoying the game but she can't drive very well and doesn't know how to set up the car for using those assists. Thanks in advance.. Peace bro..

I‘ve been burnt out on FH5 for several months now. I ‘beat the game’ but I’m not considering it over until I win everything from the base game such as PR stunts, races, etc. I do not include new features brought in post launch because that would take forever. For example, I actually beat FH4 fully as every story and PR stunt is 3 stared, all races won, you name it it’s done. Forza just doesn’t feel fun anymore and all the new updates are unappealing to me so I’ve been strangely going back to playing FM7. All in all this video is helpful for most, but it doesn’t aid those who are burnt out from playing Forza since 2015. Good video regardless!

you missed the horizon tour when talking about pvp options . it's fun cause the categories force you to not use non meta cars ( which in turn forces you to find the meta cars of each cat. lol ) but can turn in to a ram fest quick. i do miss team pvp though. i wish open racing was split in to more PP's 800/750/700 etc way to many underused cars in the game. a proximity sensor feature it would make playground games way more playable.drift events should be lap limited not time limited. lets hope we get this and more in horizon 6

I feel so strange because I rarely touch this game let alone the races. I've missed a lot of Series and Anniverary too (and I feel honestly bad I've missed Anniversary series and can't enjoy them anymore). But I'm still worried I'm gonna miss FH5 when it all will be over and the servers will close

Private lobbies would make this game 1000x better

I've made a billion dollars several times and I have pretty much every car; I missed a few exclusives when I was busy playing other games. I give away every car I win unless it's exclusive and unique. When I start getting close to a billion again I buy really expensive cars and gift them. So far I've given away 1,775 cars. I still enjoy playing the game but I play way too many other games to play more than a few hours each season to get the exclusive cars.

Do players who use a racing wheel/pedals/shifter have an advantage over someone with a controller? or vice versa? With the racing wheel you have more control over the amount of turning, whereas a controller tends to be more binary on/off when turning.

It's a real shame Online/Playground Games doesn't work like it did in Horizon 3 Whenever I had XBL Gold I would spend basically all my time in that as the racing was so addicting

Oof, i love the idea of joining a discord for a cleaner competitive enviroment but i don't see myself up to the task, i know how good players can get and i'm not that close to their level, plus learning the new tracks will be a problem at the start. I find myself at home in custom street racing S2 where the races are intense enough that rammers stick to driving like human beings to not get themselves a darwin award.

creative lab races with friends are the pretty much only reason i boot up the game now. there's also the tarmac races from the rally expansion, those go pretty hard 👍

I am an average driver but I race clean, do you think I fit in any of those communities you talked in the the last apart of the video? Or do you have any other recommendations for average drivers like me?

I’m interested in joining a race club. But I have to admit I don’t know how to go about doing it. I don’t use discord. Do I have to somehow connect the discord app to my Forza Horizon game? I’m clueless on how to do something like that. I’ve essentially finished FH5 and FH4. I’d like to get better racing online but I am turned off by racers who’s sole purpose is to ram other cars. I actually think Forza needs to default online racing to no collisions like they’ve done on the Hot Wheels online racing. If people want to ram make that an option in custom racing.

Do you have any recommendations for drift communities? I'd love to do more online drifting with people who want to actually do tandems or have realistic comps rather than Open Drift which is really just about cranking manjis in some really stupid builds on unlinkable tracks.

Love online racing. I got already around 4.5k wins, 5.5k podiums. And around 500 hours lmaooo, its so fun everytime, even if you encounter meta abusers or rammers, every race is another world
