In this video, I’ll show you how I measure and mix my epoxy. I’ll also go over 3 different application methods and the pros and cons of each.
Also, Nitrile Gloves are always recommended when using epoxy. When I made this video COVID was at its peek and I choose to leave the proper gloves for those with an immunity deficiency, the elder, and medical workers. Please wear the proper PPE when working with chemicals. When in doubt contact the maker of the epoxy you use for recommendations on what to use.

Love it thank you for showing so many different ways. Normally all I see is Epoxy method but they do not go into detail about timing, or waiting vs rapid use. As always you are a gem and a huge help!!

This was super helpful seeing the different methods. I was wondering what I was doing wrong as my tumblers are coming out too lumpy and now I know it’s because I was not letting the epoxy sit for a while before applying, thank you so much for this video!

Can I ask, I’ve just started my first tumbler. I had it spray painted black first. Then I did a thin layer of 1:1 epoxy and as I was spreading it with my finger before I’d put glitter on it sort of went a mottled look? What does that mean and how do I fix? I tried a bit of heat gun and it didn’t seem to make a difference.

I just started making my first tumbler and i spray painted it, let it dry overnight. Then i used mod podge to do first layer of fine glitter. I sprayed it with clear spray and let it dry. Then I did my first layer of epoxy. I put it on the turner and used the lighter to try to pop any bubbles and I got too close and burnt it in a couple of places. I let it finish curing then I attempted to remove them by sanding but that’s not working. I’ve got it all sanded and thought I would attempt to put another layer of glitter on. Since it’s got a layer of epoxy can I only do the epoxy method of adding glitter or can I do the mod podge again?

By working I mean heating it adding alcohol inks and moving the resin with air? Any help is appreciated. I can mix resin for 2 cups work them the same way and still one will cure one will be tacky sometimes. This also occurs if I don’t use the inks sometimes. I have eliminated heating my bottles thinking could be condensation. Also set a timer to be sure it is stirred and mixed well. Scraping the sides etc… I can’t figure out what I’m doing to cause the inconsistently.

Is the straight from mix coster vs 10 min coster, more flat in first case? It looks like that, when you see light reflections straight from mixing looking glass flat when in the 10 minutes waiting you can see light breaking in the not even surface, isn't it?

Nitrile gloves are always recommended. A respirator is always encouraged if the area you are working in is small and cannot be properly ventilated. When in doubt, reach out directly to the company of the epoxy you use for proper usage. I use Alumilite and I recommend subscribing to their KZfaq channel and watching their videos all about Amazing Clear Cast. Here is a great video about properly mixing and what they recommend for safety equipment kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fdSEl6ybybCRdn0.html

Thank you! 🤗💖 as for your question, is the epoxy hot when you apply it? Warm is ok, but hot means it is in the middle of activating which will make it SUPER thick and sticky. I suggest applying it a bit sooner so you have time to work with it. I find a good open time for applying is before about 5/10 min after mixing. I find after that point it gets to that hot sticky phase. I hope this helps! 🤗💖

You always want to follow the warnings on what ever brand you use. Alumilite has a KZfaq page as well and shows lots of helpful information.
