This is similar to the loom knit zig-zag stitch but the duplicate is referred to as the tracing of the wrapping of yarn to be the exact same path from which you came. The first peg when starting the wrap will not be knit on the first pass but knit on the second pass across. This is demonstrated in this tutorial.

The pen case is a real game changer for me! It was really difficult with arthritic knuckles to wrap the loom but this is so much easier. Thanks !

Thank you for making this video. You explain things in a way that is very accessible for newbies like me. It's difficult for me to maintain grip since I had my stroke, so any knitting needles would just end up on the floor multiple times an hour. I just purchased one of these plastic looms and am looking forward to trying your techniques tonight.

Glad it was helpful! Loom knitting allows you to participate with the yarn arts giving more abilities to hang onto the tool that knitting and crochet cannot do when the tense of touch is compromised.

I just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos and hope you make a lot more. Also, I thought I'd mention for anyone else out there reading this note, I couldn't find a pen that I could take apart easily to make the loading tool, so I'm using a drinking straw and a length of wire cut from a coat hanger, and it works just fine!

I made one so easily with a pen, and for finer yarn with one of those cheap twist plastic pencils. Because the top narrows it goes easier between the narrow guage pegs. They're fantastic.. So simple yet really effective.

You won't get a hat going across the loom for round as it will not have an opening.
@virtualinking
@virtualinking 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheCrochetCrowd I meant on a circular loom. I saw a hat with the zigzag stitch, but I really like the way you teach and wondered if you would consider making a tutorial for a hat. Also, the yarn feeder idea is AWESOME!
@TheCrochetCrowd
@TheCrochetCrowd 2 жыл бұрын
@@virtualinking I’m not sure how this is possible on a round loom. You may need to Google this. I don’t know how you can jump across the ring to form a hat as you will not have an opening fir the head.
@linwei-lee110
@linwei-lee110 2 жыл бұрын
I'm totally new to this and haven't made any hats yet, but I did see two different techniques used in hat videos 1. Get an adjustable loom (I just paid $12 on Amazon for one with 54 pegs that you can click together in any shape you want) You just keep pulling out pegs to make the circle increasingly smaller so you have a smooth, rounded top. 2. Create a long tube on the solid plastic ring loom, then close up the top of the tube by weaving yarn in and out of the top before pulling it closed like using a drawstring. An enormous pompom is then sewn on top to sorta hide how the top end is closed

I don't have a loom, but I am interested. I inherited a friend's stash of yarn a couple of years ago, but have never done anything with it. With this loom, and this stitch, would I be able to make pot holders or even dish scrubbers? Your explanation appears to make this craft easy enough for a senior-aged beginner to do. Thanks so much.

Very interesting stitch, however how did you get the first row to not simply pop off? When it came time to loop the first row, the one peg that didn’t have two loops caused the whole thing to come off the loom. Perplexed but still trying because I want to see what the pattern is.
