In this video, I followup with a chart demonstration of the nodes of the Moon from both a traditional and modern perspective, in order to illustrate the differences I discussed in the first talk.

Thank You for that, a light bulb just lit up. I have recently been studying this exact discrepancy between the EA, the Western, and the Vedic approach. I also appreciate how, for the purposes of this lesson, you didn't clutter the example chart up with outer planets. You are a very powerful teacher, and I have learned much from your videos.

Glad to be helpful! These are very simple but powerful distinctions and I think its important that people know about them since hardly anyone in the EA world teaches about these historical differences.

Yee Haw! Some spicy commentary going on! I love it. It's beautiful! Thanks for the follow up(part 2). It clarified alot for me. I don't know much about much. I know a little about alot. I'm a sponge. Especially when I find a source I can trust. In this case that's you. With a little discretionary elimination I'll take your teaching and use it to enhance and maybe even adjust what I already THINK I know. I won't debate you about anything until I know your endgame. We can't properly discuss which road to take if we're not going to the same place. Yes. Guilty. I sooo hunger for the destination! I resent, a little bit, the obstacles to getting there. I'm working on it. Just sayin'. With love and respect, Casey

Acyuta - I've watched all your recent videos (found you Dec '21), and now YT is recommending your older videos. Which is cool to reflect back at those times and what was happening personally. I love them all and can't wait to study with you!! Timing didn't work out to catch the class that just started. But I will be studying with you. I very much appreciate your way of teaching and storytelling. Grateful to have found you. Thanks for all you do! 🙏🕉

Wow, this is so deep and very different from everything I have learned, it also makes more sense to me. My south node is in cancer 8th house, I have a mother with lots of narcissistic traits, she serious damaged my life and the life of my sisters. I always had this feeling that no matter what I couldn't escape from her influence. All the suffering made me search for the truth, for an escape, for liberation, and I found it in the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and many others great sages, this life is for liberation!

The traditional view of the nodes makes more sense to me, as well, and feels better in interpreting the dynamic of my own nodal axis ( better discerned in my maturity - with most of my life's experience to reflect upon). It takes a more "eastern" outlook of the cycles of time and the reality of eternity to interpret the nodal axis from the traditional viewpoint...and this culture isn't quite there yet (what with physicists looking [in which direction ?] for the evidence of the "Big Bang and all...) As a young student of astronomy, I thought that it stood to reason that if the farther out in space we look , the further back in time we can see...that the "origin" or "center"-the singularity- exists an all directions as far as there is "far"in time OR space.Or, to put it more simply, there truly is no absolute "time" or "space" at all! Relative!!

i really loved this commentary. as someone with a sun/rahu conjunction (both at 1º virgo in 9H), the EA paradigm that often emphasizes reaching for more really didn't make sense for healing what can sometimes feel like my endless egoic insatiability for accomplishment. i am still very much fine-tuning my own take for use in my practice, but i definitely love the point of view of seeing the whole axis as an eternal arc, not this linear solution. x

I always want to comment & don't, so thank you Mr. Elenbaas for every other video as well as this one😁 I'm so glad that chart is similar to mine because I've always felt short-changed by the typical interpretation. I was born during a lunar eclipse & I have a stellium on one end with the nodes flipped. I feel a truly horrible urge to escape that's been growing for years, and I've really taken to heart your advice that a return to a spiritual path is the real answer to whatever difficulty. My struggle and virtues just don't make me special enough to escape the laws of reality😆

Thank you so much for this demonstration. If I interpret my nodes this way it makes total sense to me and brings me to the same conclusion that my inner work (Jungian therapy) led me to. I believe this is the right way to look at the nodes. Once again, thank you!

So interesting! I have to say the rahu/k2 description here really resonated for me. My South Node is conjunct my sun in Gemini, for as long as I can remember I've been searching for a meaningful connection w/ the divine & now I'm going through a "true" kundalini awakening. Interestingly, this morning while doing my daily "conversation with Spirit" (tarot, astrology, etc) cards came out for both the NN and SN, both in reverse (only ones in reverse)...thus emphasizing the message that has come through in these videos of the "Beginningless (and Endless) Karma." In addition, this video came up for the first time in my feed today (though I'm a subscriber) so when I saw the synchronicity I knew there was a message for me here. Thanks again for your insights! Beautiful

Thank you for this video! Through mine and other peoples charts, I have seen both ends of the dragon having a strong propulsion to seek in an unhealthy manner. Ahh yes, beginning less time. Thank you for giving me this new deep insight on the nodes. I prefer this depth, it speaks about the poison of attachment that’s keeps us in this cycle of rebirth over and over again as well as Enlightenment. I am starting to study astrology and I’m very much drawn to the nodes and Pluto, so thanks again☸️

Thank you, Adam, your approach makes so much sense to me. As I have my North node in the second house in Scorpio, you can imagine my confusion when I tried to understand the modern signification, where houses are confused with signs, and the guilt I felt of not being able to somehow work my way towards that NN successfully.

Thank you once again Adam! Most especially fir pointing out the mystical awareness of the ancients vs current world view. What a great reason to study their interpretation of the nodes. Once again we see “graha” or grasping for, only in this case the nodes instead of the planets themselves. Most interesting that neither one is satiated, rahu or ketu. Ketu wants out of the cycle, Rahu keeps us bound it seems. For me, Rahu conjoined to Antares (!) in H4 in same house w Moon Saturn. All 3 trine H 8 Sun etc. I yearned to be home but had to support my family by managing other people’s money ! And being very resourceful. ((H 8 themes). Would love to have your view some day. Thank you I appreciate all your videos especially the monthlies. I listened to part 1 too and I don’t find the evolutionary astrology view regarding the NN and SN to be wrong or misleading. I find the Indian interpretation to be rather extreme and if it was consistent with reality, we’d certainly see more chaos in the world. I derive the meaning of the NN and SN from the major events that happened during my nodal returns. So far, everything that happened had a fated element to them and has steered my life into directions I would have never imagined and couldn’t imagine my life had those events never happened during the nodal return. I think there is some truth to both views and it’s up to the person to decipher the right message based on their natal chart. In my experience, the NN is about something that’s very specific and real in one’s life and is not as broad as most astrologers describe it. I also think there is a little bit of bias in your view towards Indian astrologers. NN in the 8th doesn’t encourage someone to be more co-dependent, it encourages a person to change their attitude towards shared resources. You’re trying to prove a point using Indian writings/tradition. That is similar to a religious person trying to prove the existence of God using the Bible or the Quran. Following that same train of thought, should we suggest that a Christian or Muslim person should adopt Judaism because that was the first or original copy of the word of god?
@Adam-Elenbaas
@Adam-Elenbaas 4 жыл бұрын
I don't see the reality of suffering and impermanence or pain and insanity lacking in our world, not at all. I do not believe that I am biased. I have a committed position. I am not at all ashamed to suggest that people study the source texts and wisdom of the early astrologers. I'm also not at all ashamed to believe that they knew more about astrology than we do. I believe if anyone takes up the study of ancient astrology, for a long time, in a serious way, they will discover the same thing. Most of what passes for astrology right now, not just the nodes, is missing a lot of really crucial background and so the deeper rationale behind a lot of the basic elements of astrology is simply not understood properly. When people disagree with me about this, 90% of the time they have not read or studied ancient astrology, at all. So it's very hard to take most people's objections about any of this very seriously. We disagree about the north node in the 8th house because we disagree about the nature of the north node. The Indian view may seem extreme to you, but once you take it seriously, the entire EA paradigm is actually quite extreme... Anyway, we can agree to disagree. :) Thanks for engaging!

Rahu conjunct Pluto stationary direct on Virgo descendant oppose Ketu conjunct Chiron Pisces first house. Both square Mercury and sextile/trine Neptune in 9th. I have been a healer always. Previously a witch, a wise herbalist and astrologer (Jupiter conjunct Saturn Aquarius 12th house). This time around I have strengthened my deeply INTUITIVE (Pisces) understanding of healing with extensive EDUCATION (Virgo+Rahu, Mercury 3rd house exactly trine Jupiter) of HEALING service (nursing: Virgo) i felt like my chart deeply resonated with the evolutionary school of thought. I’m curious how Ketu Pisces and Virgo Rahu would be interpreted in traditional astrology...

I have a question for you... though i'm not sure if you will ever see this. So I'm putting it here simply for the art of contemplation (perhaps a throw back to your reflection on learning... this is how I am 'integrating and reflecting' on what i have just 'listened to' :). I agree that the ancients are our 'wise elders' and should be absolutely respected. AND I also recognize that many at this time believe we are coming out of a hierarchical "Piscean" era wherein 'getting off the wheel of karma' was the goal and 'up and out' was the foundation of major religions... Western and Eastern. Even the Vedic scriptures speak of the Yugas, suggesting we are coming back toward the central sun, from the darkness (I am thinking of Swami Sri Yukteswar's book 'The Holy Science'... he speaks directly to this). As a somewhat reluctant mystic, I've been shown this change of the era SO clearly in my own visionary experiences and meditations. So who knows what any of it really means (as a collective, each of us holds a piece of the dream... perhaps the best we can do is share our individual perspectives, as you pointed to!), but it does seem we are moving into something NEW.... awakening to something more holistic. So my question is this: In this potentially 'new age' wherein paradigms are shifting perhaps to a more lateral structure based on individual consciousness creating a collective dream that is inter-related and inter-responsible, based on right relationship to self and other, would not the ancient views and philosophies also need to evolve? Is it not safe to assume that the old beliefs and philosophies also will 'change' as our consciousness collectively changes? I think about this a lot... but then again, my Ketu is Gemini in the 12th house... ;)

Challenging the EA status quo with fresh interpretations on the wisdom of the ancients is surely an important form of consciousness activism at this time. Perhaps starting with Jeff Green’s work and then fueled by popular nodal astrology books and teachings (Jan Spiller, Celeste Teal and Steven Forrest, among others) over the last two decades, this past life/present life model seems to have become the prevailing story. While new age laziness and the consumerist convenience of a “soul path” template may be partly to blame for the unchecked proliferation of this perspective, it’s also clear that some of the themes and insights it presents have struck a chord with readers and listeners. It would be unfortunate to shame them for seeking out such accessible astrology resources as tools for self-excavation and understanding, as not everyone is called to engage on a deep scholarly level with (presumably mostly translated) ancient scripture and medieval text. In addition to the proposed Hellenistic take on the nodes, it might also be helpful to focus on the nodal axis as it relates to the collective through these lenses and to present the EA and traditional astrology perspectives in dialogue.

I hear what you're saying, and thanks for your comments. I don't want to launch into a full reply to your points here because it would take too long, but I think you'll be happy to know that after many of these exchanges I've decided to offer a 3-part series on the nodes of the Moon from the traditional perspective this winter! You can check it out here: www.nightlightastrology.com/upcoming-events.html The only thing I will reply to here is the idea that learning ancient astrology requires some kind of nerdy OR hyper mental or academic inclination. It doesn't. Most people who study EA are educated and interested in a very deep subject matter; let's not be insulting to their intelligence. If they wanted to learn about traditional Indian or Hellenistic astrology or any other type of astrology, they easily could, and there are plenty of very heart-centered, accessible learning paths available. The question has more to do with why someone (anyone) wouldn't want to learn more about the very topics they profess to know something about.

It seems like the vedic and evolutionary astrology describe the same path, though one speaks to lesser karmic debt, and the other shines a light on a big debilitating pattern that could take place. An old paradigm for and old time, a new paradigm for a new time?
