Begleri tutorial! This is what is bound to be a long series of tutorials showing different begleri tricks, styles, grips, and combos. We're starting at the beginning with string length. This is probably the most common question I get (apart from "when and where and how can I get your begleri!)...
String length is really a player preference, and different lengths result in different kinds of tricks being possible, and different styles of play. I've found that I can do a wider range of tricks with a fairly long string. This video shows the length we recommend as the standard "wukong" length, and how to measure it in proportion to the size of your hand. For me, it works out to about 13cm between beads, and a total length (before knots) of about 27cm.

Hey nice tutorials, which begleri is this you are using? Can you provide me with a link? Also may i ask if you ship it to europe as well?
@aroundsquare
@aroundsquare 9 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! We do ship to Europe and worldwide. The begleri are the wukongs, which we no longer sell. But our “boss” shells with a metal insert are pretty similar in size, shape, and weight.

i don't really understand how this explains how to find your personal lenght.. I've read you should take your hand width (mine is 3.25in) and add 2 inches to it, is that true?

+Aroundsquare Ltd yeah, it would probably be poi length (arm length) and allow for all sorts of cool one hand meteor style play and lots of elbow trap combos.

It’s just about finding the length that is the most fun for you personally. I prefer ten inches from bead end to bead end. I tried begleri over two years with the recommended length and gave up after a few days. It was not fun. A few weeks ago I added longer string (550 paracord) and am having as much fun as I did when I started yoyoing years ago.

My hands are not huge and I use a ten inch string (end of bead to end of bead). I find the usual recommended length too short, not fun, and just frustrating.

If there’s any golden rule, it would be personal preference my friend. Awesome that you’ve found a length that works for you. At certain lengths, either much longer or much shorter than the guideline in this video, some of the tricks in other tutorials may not work well or may require adaptation, but everyone in the community kind of does their own thing and this video is definitely showing it’s age. Thanks for stopping by!

the beads have to be on the heavier side right?
@johnd7564
@johnd7564 8 ай бұрын
Heavier beads have more momentum and are more predictable. Lighter beads are easier on the hands when you rebound (bounce). Like everything else with beglari, experiment and find what works best for you.

aroundsquare.com quite expensive honestly, but reasonable as the metals used for the begleris are high quality. You get other goodies too, like extra strings, a pouch to hold it in, stickers, and i think some more stuff depending on which you buy.

Paracord and some hex nuts. Tie a simple or fancy knot at one end, cut and burn. Slide on 4 hex nuts, measure how long you want it, tie the same knot, play with it and adjust it to the length you want, then cut and burn. To play simply hold two nuts in the grip and let the other two slide to the other end. Optionally you could use slip knots to hold the nuts on each end in place. Note, according to some of the tutorials, smaller end weights = more dropped or flying begleri...

60$ for a piece of string with two weights on them??
@chrisfrancz
@chrisfrancz Жыл бұрын
There are many kinds of weights - aluminum, stainless steel, brass, titanium. You can make the ends with hex nuts or wooden beads but the cost for machining and fancy finishes put the cost up plus you get something specifically designed for the purpose. My two favorite sets costs $14.99 and $25.

is 325 paracord okay? I made my first Begleri last night with two brass fishing weights that I drilled out but it's like 32g total weight so I think I made it way too heavy. Shit hurts to rebound.

@@enimeXeditz you have to set it to your right size by placing beads on the Paracord/string and creating knots at different spots to find your perfect hand size Then cut the ends, burn the ends so they don't flair then you can use it.
