This was the motor/ stator slippage that has been known for a while now in the s22 and the t4, if you own one avoid scenarios like this. This is a third party component causing this that kingsong and begode both used in the t4 and s22. You should be able to do this on the modern wheels without a problem. You should be able to land hard and bonk off things no problem. The wheel gave out as soon as it made contact with the log. Any other wheel I have would have boosted me over the log. I have talked to Ewheels about this and they are contacting Begode to get this resolved so you dont have to deal with this. Do not take your t4 into deep woods and try to do a log hop because you could get stranded. Heads up!

if it says hall failure, its probable that your hall sensor came loose from the impact. and then the motherboard got confused and sent a bunch of amps through the motor to keep itself upright despite not knowing what the correct thing was to do. the same thing happens if you plug the wrong phases or hall wires in when repairing. id say this wasnt really a fault of the wheel, and this could happen to any electric motor especially if its not hardened enough. edit: ok so i reviewed the footage several times and there doesnt appear to be a large impact like i had. so I can't say for certain what the problem is other than the motor trying to overcompensate and sending too much power.

Yes that's a motor defect, very similar to the one we identified on the S22, you can find my post about it in the forums. King Song followed up on that by releasing the testing method they found which work, which I called the "landing test". It should work to identify some or most of the bad T4 motors just like it does for the S22. A higher percentage of T4 motors seem to be bad than S22 tho, and they fail very quickly (they can fail later as well: motors should either be validated with the "landing test" or replaced)

@@Blox117 in short, the stator of the motor, on which the electromagnets are wrapped around, is not fitting well with the motor base and axle. Because of loose tolerances, it can slip and rotate instead of staying in place. When that happens, it pulls on the hall sensor wires and/or phase wires, which results in a cutout in both cases. For chooch, the beeps indicate a hall sensor error, fortunately the mainboard is fine and only the motor needs to be replaced. For some others the phase wires get shorted on the side covers which burns the motherboard. Edit: I see that the video burned later in the video. Tip: never turn on a Begode wheel with a hall sensor defect. they tend to self destruct. King Song addressed this by adding pins to prevent the stator to move mechanically. It is unknown yet if Begode will opt for the same or change motor supplier entirely. By the way, both the S22 and T4 motors share common traits because they're made by the same supplier called ZX.

Agreed... The ex-30 has all the performance specs I'm looking for including a good size wheel diameter, but it's a lot to ask to trust low quality when you are getting into the 4-5 grand price range. I just might have to keep my deposit on the bigger and potentially cumbersome v13.

Just a bit of info, for the v13 Inmotion actually changed sources of their motors to the same manufacturer that makes Ninebot motors. Reportedly they are much higher quality and prevent issues like stator slip.

its probably because they went ahead and go bonkers on releasing multiple wheels at once instead on focusing on one model making the quality crap again. people are still in pre order with master and they announced Master Pro, T4,Mten4, and Ex30 all at once. ive been hearing bad things with Mten4 and masters too, its not looking good tbh, they need to slow the crap down.

My T4 died on my first day testing it out in my garage. It started stuttering when I hopped off. Later that week I tried calibrating it hoping it would fix it, but it didn’t. So I laid it on its side. I wanted to see if the motor was engaged so I lightly tried to turn the wheel and poof! Something popped and smoke started to rise from my wheel. Thankfully it wasn’t the batteries. Someone told me it was my hall sensor too. It’s just a brick rn. Seller told me to wait until they get further instruction. I’m guessing this is a known issue.

So I just replaced a lrg. Main batt. On the s18. When I would come flush, bonk, and not be able to overcome the obstacles. S18 screamed safety margin , die signal lost. I've been picked up 5 times in a month. Then bought the batt. Once I could confirm. I wonder if the t4 is physical or electronic in nature of issue. But damned if im not going Sherman S all dizzay..

If it’s covered under warranty you send it back in exchange for a replacement. Then they can failure mode test the one you sent them to see what they need to change in the next design so it doesn’t break.

You did say that after the update, that the wheel felt it was going faster than the specs. Tell begode they should do a drop and bump test or check out the program, and include a clip of the incident for reference

Damn, seems like some of you don't read or just not paying attention. He knows what the problem is, it's a third party that makes motors for KS and Begode. It's stator slippage, it's BEEN KNOWN. Even KS addressed this. Gawd some of you guys are dumb or don't know how to read. There needs to be a recall on these motors

Thats sucks dude…hopefully this is just a field test issue, but idk. I’m waiting on my Master rn…first EuC ever, but have been viewing and doing research for coming up on two years, now. I know everyone says it’s the worst wheel to learn on, but I always take the road less traveled in everything I do… Go big or go home…will definitely be taking it slow and steady starting out, though. Ive gotten a lot of good tips from a lot of great riders on Reddit, and I have my fairing, bumpers, and pads on the way, too…super stoked to get riding!

Just learn on grass well before going to pavement, I got more a scratches and damage while learning first two days and wish I would have spend more in park grass. Sucks damaging a new expensive wheel but falling is part or it.

My v12ht lasted a month and a has been out of commision for several weeks now. Theyre sending me a 3rd board hoping this will do the trick. Have had to take it apart 3 seperate times now. Hopefully this new main board does the trick 🤞 i feel your pain

I got the solution! Take the v12 engine and the v13 controller (they call in the Raptor) and wire it into the T4 frame and battery (on second thought, use the v12 batteries as well). Bingo, the perfect all around wheel!

New rim, remember how they used the same rim yours has for years, this one is slightly too big I think and the gap between rim and motor is too big allowing slipping

Was it just me or was the wheel making some funky cranking noises before you hit the log? It sounded like a grinding sound did anyone notice that? That shouldn’t have happened hopefully that was just a issue with the test wheels?! I just bought a wheel I wonder if that’s gonna be part of this batch? Sorry to hear this man! fuuuckkk that sucks, but i agree with your method of testing...these wheels shouldn't be able to break themselves...which they do, when they cant handle their own power-spikes/abrupt voltage changes. If they are not made for this style of riding they should put a giant "ONLY FOR GENTLE COMMUTING" stickers on them...these things should have like industrial grade power delivery modules, forget big tires, forget strong motors, forget suspension....and start showin me wheel where the tire can go from 50km/h to 0 vice-versa without completely fucking its electronics.

Begode is not an EUC company, it's a science lab and we are the lab rats. Bedoge wheels are great, amazing even... When they work. The QC is so bad, no consistency.

When you think about it, the manufacturers should keep improving and perfecting EUC models. Toyota Camry as an example. Year after year, it gets better and better. Instead, these EUC manufacturers keep cranking out the prototype models at increasingly ridiculous prices.

Hi Chooch, first of all I totally agree with you about the quality of these chinoiseries and the fact that it's time for the Americans to make their real quality wheels!!! it's been dragging on for too long...Then what I find completely absurd are the people who rush to buy a wheel when it has just come out because they are only used as guinea pigs!! The Chinese don't test the wheels, the only test they do is going up and down hills or stairs...they are stupid...But the stupidest are the people in a hurry who still haven't understood that you have to wait at least 6 months after the release of a wheel to start having a reliable wheel... Kingsong, Begode, Inmotion it's the same shit we saw with the problems of overheating mosfets... stop to be stupid.. in this case Chooch you can't help it because you are a tester.. but I'm talking about consumers..

I wonder when we will start holding manufacturers accountable for all these trash wheels. They are laughing all the way to the bank charging thousands for an underdeveloped product. I just find it super annoying that people, especially Begode riders nonchalantly make it seem like its not a big deal that all these new releases pushed out by their companies having all these issues, Because you damn well know if this was an Inmotion those same people would be screaming from the rafters about how Inmotion is so crappy when wheel after wheel from begode are literally crap QC.

Sounded like a stick was stuck in the shell right before the log. I think the stick broke the motor wire as the suspension was compressing.

this make me nervous. I was looking at getting a v12 till I heard of the t4 cause its exactly what I'm looking for. wish the t4 was built like the mten4 being thrown around :(

I claim no expert knowledge of EUC technology and am fully willing to recognise your expertise in this matter. However, I would not have necessarily expected the T4 to automatically climb over the log your EUC failed at ??? 😳👀Maybe larger, more powerful EUC's can do this feat ? Is your EUC now toast ? Can it be reset or is your motor fried ? P.S. I'm so sorry this happened to you man ! You paid some serious cash for your EUC and now it's fried ! That sucks man ! 🥺👎🏻😭😭😭P.S.S. How about a warranty return ? Possible ? Out of the question ? User misuse ? 😳 Gosh what a nightmare.💁

The T4 is almost half the price of the master, but only a few pounds lighter. It looks like a smaller master, but something had to be left out to make that price point. The fact that it is now hard to turn makes me think you bent something. The motor magnets are on the order of a quarter inch from the inner tube. That gives maximum torque for the tire size, however, denting the rim also bends the motor. The rotational stiffness could also mean a bearing misalignment. If somehow a side load got one strut shorter than the other, the motor mounts at the bottom of the struts could be bent just enough to make the bearings complain. Since you have not been able to ride it in that condition the old diagnostic technique of driving it around the block won't happen. A tear down is next.

Nah, the T4 is ~$2350-2500 depending on where you buy it, Master is only ~$3000-3200, it's not half the price. Maybe you're thinking Master Pro? I wanted to get the T4 myself too, but after hearing of these initial issues with it and seeing that for only 28% more I'd be getting 33% more battery and 40% stronger motor, I've changed my order to Master.

what the actual F* have we just witnessed? . FFS begode. I was hoping this T4 was inmotion v12 HT "challenger" it has failed in performance AND resilience. Begode... wake up guys. this is crashing your company.. Hey, Chooch so sorry you had that uber ride home nightmare dude. It shouldn't have happened. theres too much performance choice now. . Begode, you must now become the king of safety, or fail. No more short cuts.... Im scared your motor will burn my house down. This is unacceptable.

I don't think was user error or wheel error. It was terrain error.😂 That tree was rotten. The wheel would have made it but when grabbed it ripped it off the tree therefore the wheel lost it's grip. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Im sure the motor is fine, my guess is the mosfet(s) are shorting the pole(s) of the motor (the 3 wires that goes to the motor), when you rotate the motor it will act as an alternator, with a short circuit so thats why the motor is hard to turn.

???? Go watch the video again, there’s nothing wrong with jumping, you didn’t jump high enough and smacked the wheel into the log. That’s not proper jumping, and not regular use (certainly not like going down or up a curb) like you claim. The wheel also tells you exactly what is wrong, that the hall sensor failed. Tell me how the entire mother board (or motor) is fried when it’s telling you what’s wrong and displaying it on a screen 😂 🤡 I swear the users in this community….
