Hilary I saw you live in Frankfurt earlier this year. I have never felt anything quite like that in regard to music. Thank you! I really like you giving context to the pieces you play, that's a great idea.

I have seen Hilary live too. I enjoyed it very much but I get far more from watching these kinds of videos than I did from the performance. Her discussion of musicality with TSV is fascinating as are all of these wonderful videos. They offer her very personal insight, which is difficult to get from a live performance. For me, the person behind the violin is as interesting as the music she plays and I'm very grateful she takes the time to make these. I dont know any other musician who does it. Thank you Hilary.

I am inspired by both of these great composers, and created my own solo violin cycle called "Ukrainian Transformation" which consists of 12 pieces, based mostly on Ukrainian folk songs and was written during 2013-2021. I hope it will enrich the violin repertoire in general and bring more understanding about Ukrainian music and soul itself. It's already edited and waiting to be presented in Kyiv hopefully soon. I hope a lot of musicians, violinists, will like my creations, it combines many genres, interesting to play and to listen ❤

Hilary: Your analysis is advancing knowledge of how the brain works. Bach's themes were already in Ysaye's memory and had an influence on his creative output and you, Hilary are the first to see these connections. Having learned from you, future scientists will be looking for other connections in studying our amazing brains. Can't thank you enough for your insights. Wow.

I wonder what interpretations you would have of Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album. To be fair, its as classical as a person could hope for in mainstream music and it would be interesting to hear your breakdown of the album.
@CanadianDivergent
@CanadianDivergent 11 ай бұрын
I do not see Hendrix, as classical influenced. Especially compared to Uli Jon Roth, Yngwie, or any of the neo classical players. so I'm not sure how electric lady land even comes close? The neo classical monsters are actually comparable in terms of being masterfully technical for both guitar and violin.

@@CanadianDivergent I predicted this response. That's why I stated " it's as classical as a person could hope for in mainstream". Also, I never stated there aren't other albums directly influenced by classical. I'm not looking for music to be dissected by her that is clearly influenced. The one thing Hendrix had going on that's tied to classical music is he explored musical concepts. Lastly, that's why I also stated "it would be interesting to hear your breakdown of the album" As in her breakdown. I never used the word "influenced" LOL
@CanadianDivergent
@CanadianDivergent 11 ай бұрын
@@isheetfromaswhole3657 nope, influenced was the word that I used. not you. I never stated you said that word. It was my description. my point was if your going to dissect something that's " as classical as a person could hope for in mainstream music " I disagree, that electric lady land would fit that bill. just sayin' I would love to see her dissect anything in that genre. so we would agree on that.
