Bought the CD as well. Sounds absolutely lovely on my tower speakers, as if I were sitting in the front row. Absolutely amazing performance. Interesting comment by Hilary about the bone conduction. I heard that from bass players who often say that "you don't hear the bass, you feel the bass", but it now makes sense why Heifetz did not use a shoulder rest, nor did he allow his students to have one. He said in one of the videos that it was taking away the feeling of the instrument. I always thought he meant that just in terms of a fitment, buy I never ever considered that he may have meant it this literally, as bone conduction.
