With exclusive behind-the-scenes access you won't find anywhere else, here's a look at what happened when Download Festival put on a historic pilot event last month.
The festival was the latest in a series of government test schemes designed to pave the way to a full return to live events, welcoming 10,000 rock and metal fans through the gates of Donington for the first time in two years.

I love that they got the smaller bands. Shikari, Rattlesnakes and Bullet don't really get to headline, half the bands don't even get invited. So cool to see a diverse lineup of fucking awesome music. it's a shame next year looks like they're going back to the traditional sellers.

1. So because you haven't heard of them, they're shite? 2. Ok, so you're so bitter about modern rock, that you choose to recognise a festival from over 20 years ago, and ignore any new festivals, bands, etc. Sometimes I wonder if older metalheads actually want metal and rock to die with how much they seem to hate he genres whenever a band dares to get any attention.
