Vanity Fair wants to write and publish an in-depth story about Gwyneth, but she doesn't exactly like that so she thoroughly briefed all of her friends and family telling them what to say and what not to say. There you go, now you can enjoy it. ^^

That might be part of the reason, but Gwyneth has been very preachy about how people should live their lives (in general) so I think it is a dig at her bossiness.

The Pun of Harts Well, of course the briefing of friends and family shows how preachy Gwyneth is as well. However, without the briefing, George wouldn't and couldn't have made this joke. Without any other kind of regular Gwyneth preaching and just the briefing, he still could and would have.
