Today is the video so many have been waiting for...a return visit to the incredible , the one and only Dan Sharifi's Cichlids of the Americas facility.
This awe inspiring collection of some of the absolute best New World Cichlids is owed by Dan and Martha Sharifi, both legendary and passionate aquarists.
They have travelled extensively all over Central America collecting the best Cichlids that the world has to offer and brought them back to breed for the trade.
Today we discuss what they've been up to since my last visit four years ago.
Lots has changed, Lots of incredible new fish!
So join me today as we go into the world of one of the best New World Cichlid collections in the world.

Great upload mate 🔥🐠. My mind is opening up to the universe of American cichlids and in particular central/vieja species 🎉. I’m from Australia and you guys from the states are seriously lucky and privileged to have access to a lot of these species.

Awesome video! Lots of lovely looking cichlids in this video. I really liked the xanthic form of the Jaguar cichlids. Hopefully those will be more available in the future.

amazing video. the altifrons was so gorgeous i ordered a group lol. can’t find any real solid info on them online as far as diet and size. would you happen to know what they eat and how big they get??

Thank you very much. Amazing fish albeit very very slow growing. Good clean water with lots of water changes. They are an obligate sand sifting omnivore spa varied low fat diet will be ideal. Let them Sift through the sand . They are a smaller species reaching a maximum of about 9”

These would be a natural occurring Xanthic morph we have a Species profile coming on them soon

Did you change cameras? Last video of the Cichlids of hte Americas, some of the same fish were more colorful, like the Chaco Max.

Yes but that’s not really the reason were a couple Months before breeding season when they really ramp up.

What is a good commercial food for Central America cichlids?

Not an easy question to answer as not on food would meet the needs of the vast diversity of Central American species. Variety would be key, low fat foods.
