yes it's stop motion mostly. sometimes they use modded real toys like polly pocket, GI joe or He-man, sometimes they don't and make their own like these Superman, Flash and Batman. What they use depends on the style they're going for. If it's a wallace and gromit spoof, then there's good chance they gonna use the same material as the original. These are not facts, just what i deduce from watching the show.

this show sorta reminds me off the one with the puppets an the green ship, I FORGOT WHAT IT WAS CALLED but pretty much there was no cgi and it was all focused on the puppets and brilliant voice acting...
