I originally was not going to show the "how it was built" video of this track. I wanted to keep people wondering.. But, I decided just to share with the world.
Let me know what you think.
and most importantly.. THANK YOU for being here.

Nick my friend this is an awesome behind the scenes production. Great to get the back story of the build and the experience you got from building it. I know how pain staking of a task it can be having just rebuilt the OMR. I actually got a sneak peek at this when you did that interview about a month or so past. You are very imaginative and creative, an innovator in the diecast racing community. You're inspiring even to those like me lacking the budget to build on such a grand scale. You must be doing something right to go from 0 to 7k plus in the short time you've been hosting. That's a puzzle I'm still trying to put together at GDM. I remember and been a fan since you introduced Candy Mountain for the 1st time and I hope I get to race at TTC someday whatever track is active, it will be an honor. As for you getting dizzy filming in circles, maybe you can craft a spiraling slider for the camera that follows the track? It will take some trial-and-error testing, but I think you can figure it out. Then you can just stand in place and slide the camera to follow the cars. Thanks for the behind the scenes look at the BIG O. Great job my friend. "Keep your roof to the Sun". Mahalo! 🤙🏽

I've never built an open track before myself. However, I know from many other track hosts that fine-tuning can be the most time-consuming and frustrating experience. Especially when hosting modified cars of different weights, speeds and build quality. With that said, I hope you find a good balance of speed and stability that you like. I don't think there is a "perfect" track because cars will eventually spin out or crash when multiple cars are running side by side. If they're not spinning out or crashing at all, then the track is probably too slow and cars may never have an opportunity to pass each other. And that's boring. :) Just my thoughts! Thanks again for all your hard work and for sharing the experience!

Thanks for sharing this. I've been dying to understand how the Big O worked. As a very new track builder, I went through all the same emotions and feelings of giving up even on the pretty basic track I built. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is when you are trying to innovate rather than just use tried and tested solutions. I second the feedback on Russ. Just finalised the design of our new track with Spool Heads and he's brilliant to work with. Your track is brilliant,as is the production. Look forward to seeing your channel grow

It’s tricky indeed my friend! And you work your ass off on it… get it the best you can… then share it and the first thing you hear back is negative… it’s not so fun. People don’t see the hours and hours and days that go into this all for some entertainment on the internet. All I (and you) can do is keep building, keep moving forward, and keep having FUN. The real supporters will be there for us 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@XRDiecastRacing

Yeah the negative comments are annoying, a huge amount of work and passion goes into it. Some people do seem to enjoy putting others down behind a keyboard. Even the hugely successful channels experience it. Fortunately the majority are supportive and constructive when they have feedback. But it can be hard to ignore the minority. As you say and others had to remind me recently, we do it for fun and that's the most important thing. 🏎️🏎️🏎️

Incredible montage!! Congratulations on the great work! In some videos I looked, for example, at the details of the pit lane or the stands to see if I saw differences from one lap to the next (I didn't pay much attention, eh? 😀), but I admit that I couldn't figure out the real shape of the circuit. In Spanish there is a saying that says: “to stupid words, deaf ears” , and I think that's what you have to apply to non-constructive criticism you've received. The circuit, the way it is made and the way the races are recorded are incredible, and are important pages in the "Big Book of Diecasts". A complete innovation. I think (said in the best possible way) that perhaps these races have not been as exciting as those on other tracks, mainly because we did not see much of what was happening with the cars behind. But that's nothing compared to the innovation of this track. Brilliant! I think with a little (or a lot) of extra work the slopes could be adjusted for different weights of cars, but it's just an idea that may not go anywhere. And the last thing (sorry, I have to say it) how envious I am of all that space you have to be able to make the tracks!!!🤣
@TinyTrackCars
@TinyTrackCars Ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words and for the CONSTRUCTIVE feedback hehe. I definitely want to add more cameras so we at least get a replay view of what happened to the cars behind. I think that will be even more important when we are racing and there are 6 cars on the track. I'll most likely be adding one at a time as the gopros I used are $250 ish a piece and I can just go out and buy 4 more of them lol. Cheers and thanks for following along :)

Idk why i thought this was some kind of a tilt table structure to “flow” or “slow” the cars.😂😂 I like the plasti-dip solution; i have a section painted with chalk paint and it works also. I wonder if you had a inside seperate single lane for a zoom-in camera; what that would look like.
@TinyTrackCars
@TinyTrackCars Ай бұрын
Hehe that would be a huge tilt table. And I think the issue with a camera car would be…. It would never be the same pace as the cars… and the distance away from the cars would be too close and they cars would be out of focus. I had a similar issue on the original rainier rally. I planned to use a track and GoPro car to film that…. But it went way faster that the cars because the weight… so I opted for the slider which I controlled manually
@mikebinsufficientfundsraci748

I love this track. Could you maybe put a small rail on the first corner so the outer lane doesn’t head straight up the wall and travels through the corner? Have you tried scuffing the straights with like a 3m pad to see if a rougher surface would keep them from sliding so much?
@TinyTrackCars
@TinyTrackCars 29 күн бұрын
Hey!! Thanks so much. We’ve made huge changes to turn 1 since putting this video out (this was published months ago for channel members only). Turn 1 bank is lower and there is a divider that carries through the entire turn. Runs a lot better. For the straights, we are experimenting with plastidip right now. I might try scuffing some up in the future to see how that works
