They're procrastinating :D. That's pretty much what they said in one of their livestreams. They have said on several occasions, that this is not over, they have plans for making more videos for Superfruit and they want to, but they're pushing it off for now. Probably because they have other things aside from Pentatonix that is requiring their attention (Mitch's solo stuff, Scott is doing some sort of podcast with Rozzi now and before that he was working with Acapop Kids...). My theory is that they chose this song because the second half of 2018 put some sort of strain on them. Mitch was dealing with some things and it looked like they weren't hanging out much and I think this song was for them as much as for their fans as a reminder that no matter what, they will be there for each other. It is a cover though. Anyway, don't be sad. I do think when the circumstances allow them they will do something. There's a hope in the fact that it seemed like Scott had Superfruit on his 2020 vision board, so hopefully, that means they'll do something this year :D.

Adam's graceful interpretation, in addition to the heart felt delivery of this song by Scott & Mitch, that "I'll always be there" look between them on the benches just hit me in the gut. I'm an 80's girl so this one just blew me away. Thank you for reacting to it. I'm glad it touched you.

Awesome reaction! I get emotional every time I watch this video. I was happy that you saw the look between them, so many miss it. To be honest as many times that I have watched this it didn't dawn on me that it was the last video they had made as Superfruit. That makes it even more special. I too believe in my heart that they will be back eventually. It is almost like Adam is skating an infinity symbol around them.

It was very sad. You could feel the hurt and frustration but also their love. That look they gave each other during the video broke my heart. They have been best friends their whole lives.

I think the combo of the lyrics, the little looks they share and Adam’s dancing just makes the thing come together into an amazing emotional tear jerker. Lol.

They keep teasing us that there's a comeback in the works. They maintain their Twitter account and that's where they drop the hints. Plus, during the summer tour, they brought the subject up a few times. We keep hoping. Of course, at the moment, nobody's doing much of anything new. Another poster mentioned their personal time out from each other, and this was kind of a "remember I'm still your friend" kind of performance. They also did a guest visit to Adam Rippon's channel that does clips of him teaching celebrities how to skate. They did it billed as "Superfruit" this past winter, so there's still hope. LOL

So many reactors miss that "look" they give each other, they did as always an incredible job. The original by When in Rome was a faster poppy beat, superfruit slowed it down and made it a better song.

Adam rippon has a series called” break the ice” where he teach different celebrities how to ice skate and he did one with superfruit. I think you’ll like it.

I don't know if you realized that Adam's skating was choreographed and timed to the rises and falls in the levels and notes of Mitche's voice. If you watch his spins and such, they go up and down to Mitch's note tones going up and down. It's pretty cool.

Yeah, it's a cover, but a great one that really fits them. They don't usually do covers in their official videos, just in the "for fun" evolution videos & broadway songs & such. They're so busy, but hopefully it won't be too long before they do more together, because they ARE awesome together. 🙂

This actually is a cover, and they've done a few others in the past (before their original album). As for the future of Superfruit... SF started out as a vlog channel, with the odd sketch, musical number or challenge video - and I believe this part of the channel won't be back. Mainly because Scott and Mitch don't live together any more. As for Superfruit music: I'm thinking they'll get back to releasing music on the channel again in the future. Covers or originals... time will tell. Certainly whenever they're asked about it they both say that they want to do more. I'm sure the only issue is time. They obviously both have PTX stuff to do (touring, recording, press etc.) and on top of that they both have other projects going: Mitch has his been recording his solo album (referred to as MG1) and recently revealed his new persona (probably related to the album) called Messer. Scott is a workaholic to say the least. Other than PTX, he also produces and arranges for both Citizen Queen and Acapop Kids!, he just announced a Podcast he's doing with his friend Rozzi, and even now during quarantine he creates fun comedy music - just look up his social media ;)

It is actually a cover. The original was from the 80's but I honestly forgot who sang it. I'm right there with you, I am sooooo sad that this was the last Superfruit they did. From what I understand they did this song as a promise to one another that they would always be there for one another no matter what. From the Sing Off days until they recorded this song they were roommates and lived together but when they recorded this song it was right when they each bought their own homes and were now going to live separately for the first time. Doing Superfruit was so much easier for them when they lived together. I saw someone comment once that the video was to say that no matter what, no one would come between them, not even boyfriends. So when Adam skates between them that is supposedly a symbol of men never coming between them??? Then at the end they still stand together, side by side. It's their promise. Not sure if that part is true or not, but I can see it with these two. They have said they want to do more Superfruit and their Scomiche fans are anxiously awaiting but I guess now with the COVID and they are in quarantine in their homes in LA, it is putting a hold on a lot.

I got so excited when I saw this video. Adam is one of my favourite skaters. He doesn't have the high level jumps but his body makes that music come alive. His artistry is incredible and he well deserved his spot at the last olympics. When I found out Superfruit were doing a collab with him I lost it.

The Promise was put out in 1988 by the band When in Rome. It was also the closing song in the movie Napoleon Dynamite.

They quit suddenly.. but the timing just kills me since they've never said "why". This track came after the "Future Friends" video.. and that video accompanied by the Tuesday episodes halting was scary.. we'd just lost Avi. Scott and Mitch literally split. Mitch moved out and became very invested in Paris and the fashion scene. Scott bought a new house and went in what appeared to be a long vacation/party 🎉. Kirstin didn't get married.. no word why.. and we've let it alone. But she did Broadway! And she actually moved to New York and began a new life. I was afraid Pentatonix was going to end like everything else was appearing to.. Then... finally... we saw this "guy".. Matt. We wondered if he was in the group? Christmas tour was invented! and when Kevin and Matt stood up off the couch to begin a song's beats they faced each other and did a hip-hop dance and I saw the group alive again! So did the audience! I was amazed and overjoyed! But Scott and Mitch... awkward.... for the first time ever.. awkward. And Mitch didn't ride with the group like before, he was in a relationship. But we got hysterical content from Scott, Kirstin, Matt and Avi's Sister, Ester (she was still tour manager. On to her own business now)! The Broadway tunes and dancing on the tour bus was great! and Matt is as funny as the rest of them.. and his heart wasn't broken like the other's hearts seemed to be. I came to love Matt quickly for his upbeat spirit and constant smile! I believe he healed these people. They've quit being awkward on tour now, and Mitch is having fun again! 💖 Their PTXperience episodes show them acting like Pentatonix again, happy, excited, nervous before performing.. joking.. it's better now! Mitch still remains more on his own, Scott's in a long-term now relationship and he is thriving. Mitch is working in an album, but the group re-signed with RCA recently and Pentatonix's Instagram is posted to daily.! You should check their feed from within "Social Distancing" out! But, This video was the first time we'd heard from Sup3rfruit on ages! Mitch has gone over to Scott's for live feeds (they have been posted to KZfaq by amazing fans) and they are acting like they know each other again. I hope they tell us something... soon. Great reaction, I agree it's a beautiful song. It's a cover of an 80's track by When In Rome. I think it was about them mending something between them... they had a weird vibe in the time before this and hadn't seemed to be hanging out much. That's just a guess on my part though. Mitch has said that this cover meant a lot to him, iirc. Scott's said they're discussing the next era of Superfruit, so I'm holding out hope that they're coming back lol. They've just been super busy, between Pentatonix, Mitch's solo project, and Scott's billion and one things he does

Your right in your reaction of being saddened. The whole Superfruit saga came to an abrupt halt right before this video. It seemed to be their "last hurrah". They pay lip service now and then to a "reunion". But neither Scott nor Mitch elaborate on the subject anymore. In fact, Mitch, in a recent live stream stated that he "hates" anyone bringing up Superfruit, because he has no answers for them and he does not like to let people down. (Too late for that?)

I would think they need a break if only because PTX had been touring almost non-stop since last May up until recently when they had to postpone their European leg of the tour due to covid.

I am sure they will be back as Superfruit. PTX had a really heavy tour schedule this last year so I would imagine it's just not the front runner project. They gave us amazing music, they are loved so I am sure they will put some more out at some point. :)

I sort of felt like it had come to an inevitable end when they both entered into serious monogamous relationships with other people; I mean, Superfruit is so based on the humour, love, and frankly--flirtation--between Scott and Mich, that I can't imagine their respective partners would be okay with that. Maybe when they have more time, they'll come back, but I doubt it will be with the often-pretty sexually-explicit content that was in some of their videos.
