I have never played a real 2500. I wanted a big analog system, and i choose this one, for three reasons (which have become more and more obvious with time) : 1) it looks beautiful (because of the colors, and also because the modules are all designed in the same way), 2) the modules are big (which is also a drawback : the cabinet is full with 'only' 30 modules), so when there is a lot of cables, you still can see quite well what you are doing, 3) there is a kind of minimalism in it which i find inspiring (there are only 9 different modules : that is completely different to a Doepfer system, for instance, where there is much more modules). As for the size, the idea is to experiment what you could *not* do with a real 2500, even the largest setups. For instance experimenting with an absurd number of oscillators, or filters, or sequencers, etc.. (The affordable version of Behringer make the creation of really large setups possible, if you have a little money to spare.) For the sound : it would be quite difficult to compare with a real one, because the components of the few remaining instruments have aged. Furthermore, i'm almost all the time using effects, such as reverb or delay pedals, so the sound is altered, in any case.

@@lnefpd I hear ya!! I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with a 2500 during college so that is my main motivation for looking into clones but I def see where you are coming from with this. Its definitely beautiful and sounds great, glad you are happy with it.
