I feel like I got click baited

I was lucky to acquire a mint condition Juno-6 for €550 a year ago. It had been living most of it’s life in a flight case as the guy selling it was a drummer friend of mine who had used it in his studio back in the day. I installed the Tubbutec Juno66 and got a Stereoping controller to control the new features. It works wonders adding so many nice features and voice modes while keeping the original feel and spirit intact and it makes it so much easier to integrate with my setup. The Deepmind covers all the Juno I need. The trick is to use Unison 2 with a level of around 100 instead of using the chorus FX.

I Also have a juno-6, I plan to add the tubtec kit for midi. I goot and complete custom case with wood ends.

Somewhere out there, there are Juno purests who are keeping their old synths all original. I am glad they are doing this. Because it lets the rest of us off the hook. We don't owe it to the world to keep old synths the way we found them, dilapidating and deteriorating, or not being played as often as they should because they lack the basic modern features that are now a part of our everyday lives. Some people in the comments have called this a performance synth. But that is not what it is. This is a synth that is going to set in your studio and be your go-to polysynth. As such, it needs to work well with your setup. I suspect that adding midi would make this a more powerful instrument for how you intend to use it.

Hey, this was a really cool post. I'm a big fan of ASM, too. Got one of the originals, then an Explorer for live performance. Love my Nina and Osmose and OB-6. Still really want a Juno-6 though, despite the decent sounding plugins. Cheers!

I got a beat up juno 6 last year and love to combine it with a Elektron Analog Heat for that extra saturation and that gives me my favourite synth sound ever. Have fun with it!

I like what you state about particular great synths simply not "moving" you personally. Nothing from Roland has ever "connected" with my tastes. For me Prophet 5 is the one with that magic. For others it is Oberheim.

It has made me take a second look at the Hydrasynth... as far as to whether to put on the midi kit...I would say, if you bought it for an investment, keep it original...if you bought it to play...then modify it any way you want...

I like hearing your thought process. I recently bought a Hydrasynth Explorer because I needed a poly and it sounds great and I'm not much of a keys player.

I had a J60. Paid £100 pounds for it. Foolishly gave it away for nothing about 30 years ago. With I still had it. I have a Roland JU06A But defiantly getting the behringer when it drops.

Kann aber leider nicht viel dazu sagen, denn das Teil ist seit ein paar Monaten beim Techniker, irgendwas will nicht so wie es soll und wir warten noch auf Ersatzteile… aber eines ist klar: das ist schon ein Instrument, welches spontan Freude verursacht. Ich freue mich jedenfalls auf ein ein baldiges Wiedersehen mit meinem Juno! Viel Spass noch.

I’ve never stopped making music-but like you let all sorts of cool old bits of gear go as I was doing everything in the box for the sake of speed and finishing music. I’ve recently wanted to re-buy an S1000 and a 90s rompler workstation, maybe even an old computer with Cubase, as that’s all I used for years as a teen and young dude and seemed to have more ‘fun’.

What about deep mind 12? It’s a analogue poly synth by Behringer it’s a Juno remake but better! I’m really surprised it’s not even considered I mean 12 voices come on and cheap!!

Behringer is planning on releasing a clone of the Juno 6.

Gear fetish when you need to drop a dope track or something before you croak.

Keep it as original as you can. It's a performance synth, and in my view should be kept as such. It might be worth getting something like the Kiwi boards "just in case" and keep them for a rainy day should you have major problem.

I never make the same sound, as you said for rythms can connect the clock, as I have a clock out from the Roland MRC 500, but as I love Aftertouch, and simple settings on analogic sounds Juno was and is perfect. I had my Juno 6 for few at a time when analogs were said ot of their time, as fot the SH 2000, the price is already under it, 26€... So, a Wow, a Gowl, big after touch, portamento, programmed waves, monosynth, for that price... What I would say is that the Neptune will be first used by noise makers, sorry for them, mst are loosing the interest.... But as I saw, they don't like it, as they don't like the Juno 6, Good! Not for seq noise, Juno was made for music!👍🤗😺🐣

Don't break the original chassis. MIDI is not worth it, you can anyway sync it via arp clock.

Having owned one, I still don't get the facination. Without the CHORUS it literally sounds as flat as a pancake, because of the single digital controlled oscillator. Can we please move on from this and the DX??

Hello, I'm a new subscriber, while scrolling through KZfaq videos on Synthesizers I noticed your channel, had viewed merely a Mom or two and immediately subscribed to your channel. Here's what I have to offer you in the way of being a complete novice to a obvious master of the Synth world.. What you might want to do is probably just leave it alone. I've discovered you can't improve on perfection. If it's not broken, don't try to fix it. Unless, it has arrived needing a thorough cleaning up in the esthetics and sound, don't try to improve on it. I myself am located in the United States, I've owned a couple of analog synths in my time, and the only request I might have is getting a monosynth without any type of digital enhancement. When you had mentioned Bheringer synths, I immediately checked out the video. I would absolutely enjoy getting my hands on a Bheringer MS-1, I found one on eBay for a rather acceptable price, I just barely missed out on the Auction. Kinda sad, it hadn't made me feel as though I should quit my searching for a really nice one. I'm looking for a 2600, the price is really changing over time. I enjoy your channel and will continue to watch it..

I had a Juno 6 in the 90’s I paid $200 but I sold it later because I wanted a Juno 60 😅 its a nice sounding synth but I still have my JX3P , never selling it.
