Today we are talking about being a witch in secret or how to hide you are a witch if your family or friends are not supportive of your craft, or you have other reasons to keep your witchcraft under wraps. In this video, you will get some broom closet hacks that will help you conceal your witchcraft supplies, use everyday items for magick, keep your Book of Shadows hidden, and even practice witchcraft on a budget. I tried to gather as many tips and tricks for any secret witch, including witchcraft practices that are in itself already quite subtle and barely suspicious.
Some questions that we will be answering in this video will be:
How to energetically cleanse if you cannot burn sage.
How to replace candles in any spell.
What to do, if you cannot keep a physical Book of Shadows.
Where to get witchcraft information, if you cannot keep books.
How to do tarot in secret without a deck.
I do hope you find these broom closet witch tips helpful and please share in the comments if you too have another great hack for your fellow witchy friends!

I’ve been a witch for a bit now, but my parents aren’t supportive of witchcraft. They are Christian, and I learned how much they despise magic when I asked them to get a tarot deck. So, I made a little altar, hid it from them, and have been building up my crystal collection using holidays to ask them for whether it’s little statues, crystals, or potion bottles and or spices of my own. I hope this helps fellow baby witches like myself get around unsupportive parents or guardians. If they find out, it’s okay. Just continue your practice in whatever makeshift way you can. Good luck!

I shared my craft with my partner and I had the sneaking suspicion he was simply humouring me but each day he is more and more supportive. ❤️ He just helped me hang yet another branch in the dining room to decorate with lanterns and diy birds. He’s always said I make magic in the kitchen. I am a solitary witch and quite private. For me, being a witch is in the small everyday rituals, staying in tune with my values, and the connection I continue to build with nature. There are so many options to create and practice your craft. Bex these are amazing ideas! The hardest work for me was finding the love and acceptance within myself and not letting society dictate who I should be. Blessings to all for you are perfect, you are loved, you belong. ❤️

Do you know what symbol is yes, no, and maybe? In a deck of cards. Any tips?
@jellyfable139
@jellyfable139 3 жыл бұрын
@@SuperBabybella1 yes! So the advice I’ve heard for yes/no in tarot is that wands is “yes, but you have to work for it,” cups is “yes, and it will come naturally,” pentacles is “yes, but it will cost something,” and swords is “no.” Translating this into playing cards would means clubs = wands, hearts = cups, diamonds = pentacles, and spades = swords. That being said, anything works as long as you decide before you start shuffling what your personal definitions of the cards are. I’ve seen people read them as even numbers = yes and odd numbers = no. You could do the same for assigning red and black cards meanings if that makes the most sense for you.

When I was a teen, I kept playdough around to transform into statues or makeshift candleholders as needed. While my parents didn't forbid me from pursuing witchcraft, they definitely didn't support it either. Nowadays I keep my altar, books and tools in a bureau desk which is usually locked, since my conservative christian mother-in-law is visting several times a week and I have two kids under 2 which I obviously don't want to mess with my things. Trying to get more into kitchen witchcraft now, too, thanks to being inspired by your channel ❤ As a low budget tip: I made my new god/ goddess statues myself with air hardening clay, using candleholders as a basis, which I sanded down later and painted with acrylic paint. It was around 20€ for two 20cm statue candleholders. Obviously they're not as perfect as storebought, but I put all my love and dedication into them and I think that can't be bought anyways ☺

My husband’s family are very conservative southern Baptists. I respect their right to their beliefs but I have my own. I recently built a sorta alter in my kitchen that I call a “serenity shelf.” I do have books and do journaling. I also read cards (I’ve actually been doing that since I was 15, my Catholic grandmother actually taught me) and do crystal meditations. I haven’t outright said I’m practicing, but I haven’t gone out of my way to hide anything from him either. He hasn’t asked or stated any objections so I’m just going to do me, that being said I may have to hide things from my in-laws. My mother-in-law already doesn’t approve of meditations or yoga. Thank you for your videos. They hold so much knowledge for me.

So happy to see a new video from you! I don't speak in public about my craft or call myself a witch publicly just to avoid confrontation here in the deep south. That's not to say that I would deny it if asked. Titles aren't important. It's how you live. In my home I have let the witch flag fly.no one comes unless I invite them and most of the time it's my coven..my daughter says my house is halloween year round. In my late 60s I feel my house can be what i want.

I have this boring chest that in my closet that folds out into an altar. I use dresses to cover everything witchy and they also double as my prayer dresses to Artemis. I have blue and silver dresses for a normal night, red for a holiday, and purple for full moons. I have my runes as just rocks, my table cover is a white shawl with a blue cover that has holes in it for the white to show through and I fold it up to put inside the chest, my fake candle and enchanted jewelry are inside as well, and my precious stones are in a container to the side of it. My bow hangs above the altar, so I can take it down easily to place on the altar and can be still described as extra storage space. The only thing that would be difficult to explain is the cloth hanging on the wall around the altar.

I don't seal my spell jars with wax, never have done. I still don't quite understand that concept to be honest. Especially not for spells that are only meant to work for a certain amount of time. And sometimes you simply find that you don't need the spell anymore. I like to bury the hetbs I used in my plant pots or just let them blow away with the wind. If I had chrystals in the jar, then I cleans them and put them away to re-use when needed. Plus the jar too can be re-used as well after cleansing. Which makes for a pretty green way of working magick I guess 😂

I know this is an older video but a good one. I am broom closeted but I don’t hide everything. I have witchy type things around but that’s because I’ve always had such a love of Halloween. My biggest issue is I’d love tarot cards but I don’t have any option for getting any other than Amazon and my husband would totally then see them. I do have an oracle app on my phone. I’m sure he has some what of a clue with all the sigils I’m drawing and incense (which I have scents that are used in crafting such as sage and dragon blood etc).

A lot can be masked under the guise of yoga practices or praying. But honestly, it's very freeing talking about magic openly. It's sad that so many people still think it's the work of the devil, especially if those people are important to us.

LED candles are my favorite & you do not have to worry about burning down the house! Most people have them for decorative purposes & they are good for closet witches to have with the excuse of being aesthetic. FYI I'm not closet but if around family & certain people discretion is a necessary. :)

I’m half in the closet I think. Most of my friends are also witches and we learn a lot from each other because we are all different. I hide it from my other friends because they simply don’t believe in magic. But I love that I don’t always have to hide my magic at school.

if you want to work with coloured candles, but cant find them. you can melt crayons and drip it over a white or black candle (or dip) and if can't let a candle burn for hours for spells, us bday candles, they burn around 10 minutes and come in different colours. (i use this allot) I drink allot of tea, i use the herbs for spells, like 100% camoile, i would cut one of the bags open and store it, same goes for different herbs. and because i enjoy drinking it i have an excuse to have a huge tea collection (added bonus is my mom now buying me fancy teas because she sees me enjoying it) for a moneybowl spell i use my actual piggy bank, so i can add my money and take stuff out without being suspicious. in general, use generic mundane house hold items, especially ones that can close.

Hi there! I'm a 13 year old girl :) I'm a beginner witch (Baby witch) and a lot of people say I'm too young to be a witch and that witches are evil or that they do not exist. I do well with charms, herbs, crystals and potions, rituals and sometimes spell casting I think... I really like your videos, I hope I'm welcome here as a witch despite my age. I also do not know what type of witch I am yet, Does anyone have any ideas?

Witchcraft resonates with me deeply, but also scares me. My mom was raised Jehovah's Witness, she removed herself from the faith, but that did not stop her family's influence on me. Her family taught me to be afraid of all things pagan, like Christmas, birthdays, and Easter. I was taught the pagan origins of all of the holidays, which didn't seem so bad to me as a child, but then I was told I'd be possessed by demons if I celebrated them. My mother unconsciously raised me super witchy. I grew up gazing at the stars with her, and reading books about the full moon as a child, we burned tons of incense and candles, and so much more. My mom actually embraces her witchiness and identifies as a witch now, and casts spells and such. I kinda introduced the idea of being a witch to her, after I realized we had altars all over our homes. I just feel like witchcraft resonates with my being, but part of me is really uncomfortable with "demons." This may sound like a stupid question. Is it possible with me to practice witchcraft without inciting demons are bad spirits into my home?

im a minor and idk how to do everyday rituals and other things like that without being judged cause i dont have my own bedroom i share it with my grandmother. my country isn't very accepting when you believe in something beside christianity and the christian people in here is also judgemental and always forces their religion. and when someone openly says that they're a witch they would think that something is wrong with your head or sometimes even believe that you believe satan. thank you so much for the tip

So any kind of cleansing technique is just as effective as saging? I am sensitive to scent and smoke so I’ve always been on the hunt for the most effective cleansing techniques. Especially since I do spirit communication and need to cleanse before and after every session. I normally just use prayer but I’ve always been suspicious if it’s enough. Sometimes I use a Tibetan bowl but I am not good on sustaining a sound
@Thewitchescookery
@Thewitchescookery 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would say so. Plenty of cultures do not use sage but for example sound for cleansing, which is for example a part of some Asian cultures as well as where I live in Germany. The only reason sage is so hyped is, that it was used as a medicinal and spiritual herb in many countries all over the world ☺️ personally I do enjoy singing bowl for cleansing. But prayer works great too. I did make a video titled 'green witch guide to burning herbs' that also gives you DIY options if you have a scent sensitive where you could still use sage ☺️

My journey started at 18 I was studying witchcraft books and my brother frank I trust never said anything to my parents I never told anyone else So I was glad my parents didn't know for 16 years. I came out of the broom closet at 34 and told her I didn't believe in God at 35. She's probably still upset about it
