I think the issue is like for me I am dancing between happy alone and fear of that future where I am lonely. But it is Important to understand that it’s not forever you are just setting hire filter for those you surround yourself with. I can do whatever i want, when i want. I don't even have any pets anymore... Its too stressful taking care of them. I had 5 dogs i loved and took care of that took a lot of my time caring for them. Being in a relationship is exhausting. When my ex and i fought and told me to go home, i couldn't wait to get home to get away from the drama. We got back together because she was diagnosed with cancer. She was so manipulative with me and i told her we're done because i want to be single again.

I'm a genuine introvert and i've come to the realisation i'm actually lonely. I like the effort a relationship takes (the idiosyncrasies of people endear me to them) but am literally unable to find someone who also feels the same way about me. I'm the type of person who gets lonely in a crowd of people but now it's the same when im by myself. I just think iscolating myself for years built up and was not sustainable; now i don't know how to actually meet people because i never cared to before :/

The struggle or the "work" is not the other person. It's everyone else around it. particularly their family and the exta obligations. We build so many rituals and social expectations around pleasing others that it becomes a ridiculous upkeep

Thats the thing. Its fun at first. It feels incredibly freeing to do just do what you want on your time and have no obligations to anyone. But at some point down the road you realize that life loses a lot of its meaning when you dont have anyone to share experiences with.

Or because you just afraid to get into a relationship because you know they will leave you after they get what you want, you rather stay alone than facing the fact that love dose not exist, it's almost like you afraid that the same old wound will open again 😢

Why am I like this

Being alone is something we need to learn but most of us cant cause the humans weren’t designed to be alone so we always tend to look for people we always look for someone to laugh with to talk with and specially if you are in a relationship sometimes your afraid of braking up with your partner because of the fear of not knowing how to be alone and trust me sometimes it gets depressing 😢

I say its more to do with someone's mentality, if that person the more studious type, and always taking in knowledge. The more educated in knowledge, the more education in the person, they prefers to stay single, plus goal oriented, values education, high standards, take someone who is Degree educated, and has a growth mindset, unlike the not so educated, the uneducated they got to be in a relationship, they get lonely, the educated are happy alone, have our books, depending what books, not novels, but literature, business, and other intellectual subjects, watching documentaries, keep learning, hard to find a woman in today's society with the same ambitions, when majority of people in society they lack depth and are more superficial.

The issue is that people have the wrong idea about relationships. Even the best relationships are hard at times and take a lot of time and effort to maintain properly, though some do take more than others. You sacrifice for the other person, but it's worth it in the end if you've built something great with the right person. There will be times where, no matter how good the relationship is, you will regret not just staying single. It's part of it. However, during those times you have to ask if what you are getting out of it is worth it? If it's the right person, and there's love, mutual respect, attraction, and you've built a true and solid friendship with that other person, it is worth it. I do not think we are meant to be alone.

That’s me. I shut off everything and everyone. I worked over 60 hrs a week and studied. I finally graduated and I’m almost 32. But I am lonely. My parents and sister are in another country and I’m finally an Engineer manager. Just got the position and feel so f**king lonely. I do exercise though. I am in great shape but when I go outside and everywhere I go is couples holding hands I have started to feel I’m alone. I really wish I had a girlfriend or at the very least a couple of friends to then get a girlfriend. Everyone in my family has asked me when am I gonna have a gf and I had always an excuse of work and classes. I was always the type of person of no nonsense. Any advise would be appreciated

There's a great deal of discourse in this society about people "feeling" lonely...... but I don't think we talk nearly enough about the people who are actually experiencing genuine "loneliness". There are a lot of people who "feel" lonely In spite of having a social network or family, largely because they fear vulnerability; They do not share their most intimate thoughts with family members or friends due to societal norms that would result in judgment if they were to unmask and show their true selves. Unable to share the most honest depictions of themselves, they experience interpersonal relationship with others in a way that is less personal than it should, and this leaves them "feeling lonely". This type of loneliness could easily be handled with a shift in our culture. If people become more understanding of others perspectives and accepting of the idea that, one does not have to do as you do in order to be "enough", these people who "feel" lonely will no longer feel this way. Then, There are the individuals who are actually experiencing loneliness. Those of us who do not have friends, family, partners, etc. This is a completely different manner of loneliness in and of itself. We don't feel lonely because we are unable to bear our most honest selves around family, friends and lovers...... we are experiencing loneliness because we have few, if any, people around us at all. No one to go to a museum with, no one to invite us to party's, no one to go catch a movie with, no one to go on a date with, do one to go on a walk with, etc. This is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT experience to those who have friends, family members & lovers that they are afraid to open up to.

As a lazy dude, I've realized that socialization in general, even just trying to find a hookup on Tinder, as shallow as that is, requires work. And I ain't cut out for that shit, none of it.

everyone says trust me bro you don’t need a toxic relationship or your better off alone. you can only come to a conclusion like that when you’ve had the experience. doe a person who never has only going through the experience itself will he realize what he needs to do. loneliness gets to a point where youll hug a pillow thinking of it as someone just to feel “a touch”. i lay in bed in tears thinking of loneliness and knowing that tommorow i have to smile at work and say im good when people ask how im doing. it gets to a point where your brain no longer has the social connections inside to accurately detect emotions in people. the more your crave it the less the brain can recognize it. you may see a female being nice and take it as she likes you when reality all she did was ask to move your cart, or some may interpret actions as putting you down or being hostile. I know in my head I go through people thinking im ugly and im worth nothing to no one but my logical side kicks in and tells me you arent the center of the universe and people dont care about you.
