Yes! The concept of 'At will' being possible in some states is fascinating as I wouldn't have thought that was even possible under federal law 😳 Thankfully, we don't have 'At will' in the UK. Not that employers don't try it on sometimes....but that is exactly what employment law is for! 😊. Am I imagining it or is your plant looking a bit bushier? 🤔😂😂

Not a lawyer but this was super informative, especially the fact that the process is very long and not a matter of a few weeks of mediation or trial. I would love to hear how lawyers deal with lying clients or clients that are just not upfront about everything that could have an impact on their case.

Excellent overview! I practice employment law in North Carolina & totally agree that people should consult an attorney as soon as possible. Waiting until a right to sue letter is issued is often too late to try to find someone. Great video!

@@KameronMonet do you belong to NELA? There are few attorneys of color who practice plaintiff's side employment law. Even in North Carolina, whenever I have gone to CLEs & conferences, it's like 98%+ white. I only know of 5 experienced African American attorneys in the whole state (most of them are older) who routinely handle employment discrimination cases. Glad to hear more about what you do.

Great info! When I graduate, I will be working on the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation (EBEC) side of employment law. My work will be purely transactional. I never considered this field when I decided to go to school, but I have found the practice to be very interesting based on my summer experience. On another note, I am LOVING your entire look!! I don't add heat to my hair anymore, but your style has me really wanting to try that look! And your blouse is so cute! Looking fresh

Who does not understand a word you are saying? Me. Who is going to sit through this entire video? Me still. I love to hear smart people talk about their craft. I am lke "Yes, Queen of the employment law. Teach me the stuff info not know" Do you have a website? It would be cool to have a directory of Employment lawyers in each state. The lawyers could pay to be on your list. You may already do this, but it is just a thought.

i have a crazy one! how about Honda laying off temp employees after they said they would not! Previously HPE Honda Power Equipment, they merged all honda plant of nc with lawn mower, generator, trimmer and generator (into Honda)! they after said no one is going to be let go. lately they have been trying to weed out anyone with the least problems in the temp field no matter how small the issue, as disciplinary and expendable! They seem to be making an excuse to downsize and force out anyone kelly services employee related person. Despite the meeting we attended (stating honda mowers are discontinued )over regulated) and only atv's)less regulated) no one is being let go! I have been informed (that the least of the problems) even a verbal )even once) no matter the issue you are let go! 2 weeks notice! 360 plus temp employees are at the end of this issue!

Love that I found your channel! Such great info that I found helpful. But I was wondering if anyone cld help, My employer has denied my STD after I gave proper medical paper work from my Drs and they asked me to file an appeal in which I did and it's now determined that I have to return to wrk but in office now and no longer wfh in which we have been forced to for 2yrs. I expressed that I wld like to stay wfh (Mostly do to less stressful work environment esp since I went to HR abt my sup who I complained on due to discrimination acts towards me for 3months, tht got passed up as miscommunication after sending HR my proof of notes/emails, dates times screen shots of it all) the employer says I have now request an accommodation. So I share with my Drs again my situation & submitted all medical paper work asked of me.. the employer is NOW saying they have reviewed my info & have decided that I wld have to see THIER Drs so THEY can determine if I'm fit to wfh still. And I would have to choose to come back Into working in the building or resign. **I'm not sure what to do at this point?..Shld I see thier Drs? It seems really like a set up to just determine me unfit to work from home & or just deem me unfit to work for them at all??..but I Do not want to quite my job. Help? Any sound advice?

I have an ongoing employment retaliation litigation. My attorney missed the discovery deadline (said it was an honest mistake because they were waiting for the judge's decision whether the case had merit) and we dont have expert assessment of damages. What can be done at this point? We are waiting for summary judgement and the trial is set for after a month if we win the summary judgement. The attorney, although continuing to represent, seem to not have much hope, but i still have strong hope because there are tons of solid evidence for everything including employer knowledge, temporal proximity, causation, and motive, despite the discovery. Thanks.
