@@JorunnHernes. I’m so excited to see color analysis content, from a Scandinavian perspective. I’m American-Swedish? with relatives in both countries. I have noticed that, both traditionally and today, many Swedes use a lot of bright colors in clothing, home decor and even architecture. I just saw a Scandinavian-looking woman analyzed and found to be True Spring, despite very fair skin and the lightest yellow-gold hair possible. I was determined to be a mix of Light and Bright Spring, as I have a lot of brightness, high chroma, yet only one of three high contrast, darker features (Olive/Gold eyes on very fair, Warm-Neutral skin. It’s unusual to see fair skin and hair in True Spring and Bright Spring, in the U.S. Is this more common or accepted in Norway? I wonder if we Swedes wear many bright colors, comfortably, because we know they look good on many of us! Cultures do seem to reflect the colors of their people, at least traditionally. I would love to hear your opinion on whether or not many Nordic people handle brightness well, or if these are just colors our cultures have, traditionally, preferred and continue to use, for dressing (to a greater degree than the neutral American suburbs and urban hipsters. I was often considered “dorky,” for liking bright clothing, in school and peer groups, in the U.S. Or do Nordic people simply prefer bright colors, because of the need for light, in the long Winters, or perhaps a combination of both? P.S. Please excuse errors in punctuation. I can’t see what I’m typing, or edit without erasing, due to an error, either on YT or my device. I am, in fact, American Swedish…the question mark is an error! 😂 🇸🇪💛🇳🇴

@@sciencenotstigma9534 Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I actually see that people in Scandinavia tend to wear more neutrals than bright colours, and people whose skin tone can handle brights often shy away from their bright colours in order to not look conspicuous 🙂 but the further north you go in Scandinavian the brighter the colours of the houses seem to get, strangely enough. And the traditional costumes often have bright colours, look here: www.visitnorway.com/typically-norwegian/bunad/. There is a theory out there that traditional clothing of indigenous people often takes its hues from the skin tones of the people. There are several interesting blog articles about that topic on the website colorDNA: www.colordna.com/colour-theory/human-diversity

Thank you so much for this. I have watched hours and hours of content on seasonal color analysis and they all show bright winter as having black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. It’s so frustrating because I know what looks best on me (bright winter colors) but my features don’t perfectly align with the common description of bright winter.

Yes! What many fail to mention about colour analysis Seasons is that it is not so much about how you look, but which colours make your skin look healthy and radiant! Consequently, as a Bright Winter you may not look like Snow White, but it is the Bright Winter clear, highly saturated colours that brings out the best in your skin!

Loved your explanations! I feel like I’ve had a lot of trouble finding my season because people focus so heavily on Winters looking like Snow White, but I have medium brown hair that naturally highlights to a dirty blonde and deep green eyes. I look dead in muted colors and come to life in bright colors! I can wear bright lilac purple lipstick that on other people looks garish, but on me it’s just a lovely pink! I am a Spring, with characteristics Light, Bright and Warm-Neutral, in that order. My relatively neutral skin tone, bright, medium green/gold eyes, high chroma golden/ strawberry hair and brightness of skin tone had me “diagnosed,” recently, as in in-between Light and Bright Spring, by color analysis. Are light to medium, warm colored Swarovski crystals and moissanite harmonious with Light/Bright Spring, also? I wear several such crystals, as rings, earrings and pendants, every day…usually about 3-5 dainty rings, in addition to earrings and, often, a small gemstone pendant, too. I avoid ice blue, white (except my engagement and wedding band, and dark stones. The one exception is a white moissanite necklace/earrings set, for very occasional formal events. For daily wear, I prefer light to medium colors that are high in chroma…always have. I love hearing a Scandinavian perspective, as I am half Swedish, with relatives in Northern Sweden 🇸🇪! Do you share the common American definition of Bright Springs as having darker hair and/or eyes than other Springs? I don’t have dark hair, but I do have a lot of brightness and contrast between eyes and skin, with a more neutral skin tone than Warm Springs and many Light Springs, but lean too warm to be Summer.

Lovely video! I was draped as a Winter in the old Color Me Beautiful of the eighties. I haven't got access to draping now but I think I am best in the Bright Winter palette. That has been something I found scary and I really resisted it. I'm beginning to feel better about it as I am realising that these very bright colours look 'normal' on me and I also get the joy of black and white! When I was younger I never did my brows but now I find that as I am lucky to have good skin, some brow pencil and a good lipstick colour are all I need to look fresh and alive.

I just got professionally analyzed as a bright winter. I was so shocked because I really thought I perfectly fit into the category of soft autumn or just autumn in general. I have light brown hair with golden highlights naturally, and light brown/hazel eyes. When I took a picture in natural light and added a black and white filter my features seemed very low contrast. Maybe I was just biased since I like the soft autumn palette and never wear anything bright winter. I was honestly disappointed with my bright winter results and I don’t think I will wear a lot of the colours but maybe one day I’ll warm up to it🥲

I do feel for you. It can be such a shock and that's why I made this video. It takes time to get used to the thought. And remember, you don't have to wear all those colours at once. Wearing your clear, lovely neutrals and then a small pop of colour, even just as a scarf or a lipstick, makes a huge difference in bringing out the clarity of your eyes and the translucency of your skin. Great video. Im a bit frustrated with this whole color palette thing. I posted around 30 color drappings in 2 fb groups- the color that clearly did no favors to my face were- pastel yellow, tan, brigth yellow, rust, beige ( which personally I own a lot of), ligth-medium grey( have many tops this colors) and a print with brigth oranges, tomatoe red etc- they made the redness in my face, expression lines and yellowing at the corner of my eyes more apparent- for the sole reason that my hair is dark chocolate- chestnut brown, I have pale skin and dark brown eyes they insist I am an autumn- it was clear in photos that the colors that made my skin look more radiant and even were brigth aqua, kelly green, salmon, icy pink/peach, pastel lavender, cyan, charcoal, white, dark teal, burgundy and a cool brigth red- which left me deeply confused since I thought the main purpose of seasonal palettes was to use the hues that flatter your skin- not automatically stamp a palette based on haircolor- regardless if the palette flatters or not
@JorunnHernes
@JorunnHernes Жыл бұрын
Hello Anael, one of the things I like about the sciART system is precisely the fact that it places absolutely no emphasis on hair- or eye colour during the draping. It is only confusing if we do. It is the skin and the skin only that reveals your sciART Season. Your hair colour will never be a deciding factor in determining it. That said, your natural hair colour will look absolutely stunning when you wear your Season's palette, just like your skin does!

There is another Dior lipstick called Lucky Star which I bought by mistake once, and it's the same colour but it's full of glitter so I didn't like that one at all. I think I actually tossed it, which is something I rarely do... But the 536 Lucky is one of my staple go-to everyday lipsticks, not too dark or dramatic but has enough intensity to brighten my face.
