Although they felt a bit awkward at first, I feel like these are a great option to ensure consistent loop sizes in a simple loop, to reduce hand stress and fatigue & to enable longevity in jewelry making. I did find that they work better with 20 to 16 gauge wire, and you will probably need to adjust the loop a bit once it's been formed. The 2nd loop on a beaded link is a little tricky and you'll need to practice a bit to figure out how close is too close for your bead to be so the loopers don't break the bead.
These are my videos for the projects I worked on this week with this looper set:

Hi Beki! Great video and you really figured out this tool quickly! I have a big problem with arthritis in my hand and using this stops the twisting motion that causes so much pain. I hold my tool horizontally so that the bead doesn’t fall into the jaw of the tool and gives me the control of centering my loop on the wire.💕💕💕

Fantastic, thorough evaluation. I only ordered the 1.5mm. If I like it, I’ll order the others. Spreading the hand might be an issue for me, but knowing what is ahead is appreciated. Have a happy day. Hello Ellen and Natalie!

I really enjoyed your very informative demonstration of these loopers. I have two, the 1.5mm and the 2.25mm and I really haven't used them other than to see how they worked. After watching your video and seeing the pretty jewelry you made, I think I will have to start putting them to work. Thank you!

They really take some practice to really get to know. I'm glad I used them for all my projects this week because for the first one it felt awkward and difficult but by then end I had figured out my groove with it.

Have 1.5 and 2.5 use often. Reduces some of the pain I will have if using my hand to create loops in many of the pieces I like to create . One of the nest purchases I made in jewelry supplies.

I am really overall glad I purchased them. The benefits outweigh the small thing I found to dislike & if it means I can keep making jewelry far into the future then it's worth it!

I have 2 of them - didn't use much but them I watched a KZfaqr who used eyepins on 1 side and the looper on the other then connect the 2 with a jump ring I got them out again so I no longer have to struggle with making loops

I've got the smallest version and find it brilliant, I've got arthritis in my hands and I find it really easy to use. The only complaint I've got is they are over £30 each which not everyone can afford.

They really do cost something, don't they? That's what put me off buying them for so long. But they are very useful tools.

Thank you so much for your review, Love. I make a lot of rosaries for a client so these might make all those loops easier. I did try them once but I honestly didn't give them a chance... I'm going to take your advice and buy the 2.25. I really appreciate your honest and super helpful review ❤

Great review! On head pins, I find the loops on 20 gauge pins to be much better than on 21 gauge so I make a point of seeking out 20 gauge pins (Etsy is a good source). Potomac Beads has an old video on KZfaq with good tips as well. They show how you can work from a long piece of wire making beaded chain with almost zero wire waste. With practice, my loops after putting on the beads have definitely improved and are often just as good as without beads. I also don’t mind a bit of looseness on the link; I figure if I need a bead to be tight, that’s a case for wrapped loops. I have big hands so did notice strain in holding the tool at its wide point and it didn’t even register with me but that is an excellent thing to point out. I wonder if that’s been an issue for some users and they didn’t realize that’s the problem. With a small hand, it might feel uncomfortable and be hard to control.

Great review. It was very helpful to see you going through the process thoughtfully. I have been trying them out. I tend to go too fast and don't like my results. Question: if I use a long wire that will be going through the hole, do I line my wire up perpendicular to the hole or keep snug up to the lift side of the looper. I hope that makes sense.
@BekitoBurrito
@BekitoBurrito 5 ай бұрын
I think you just should keep it straight, and snug up to the looper. Because the looper will do a lot of the bending for you

Looking to add to my wire stash- silver, gold, rose, gunmetal or black… how many gauges should I get 18, 20, 22 enough? Thanks oh paramours vs bead smith? Thank you 🤩
@BekitoBurrito
@BekitoBurrito 5 ай бұрын
For beaded chain, 22, 20, and 18 are great. I use 22 A LOT since that's the gauge I make ear wires with and with wrapped loops it's great for beaded chain. 20 and 18 gauge are better with simple loops and also great for wire wrapping a cabochon or gemstone. If you're going to get into that. Some 24 or 26 gauge wire is useful for wire weaving.

Do you mostly get your wire in your monthly kits? If you were to buy tarnish free good quality wire who would you buy from. So many sources. And I want good quality, can’t turn colors cause I sell thanks
@BekitoBurrito
@BekitoBurrito 5 ай бұрын
@@mariacohen5179 I usually buy craft wire from Softflex (although I will wait until they have a sale on it and stock up then) Amazon (that's where I get the wire elements wire I use) or if I can find a good price at fire mountain gems for parawire. I find parawire and Softflex wire to be comparable in quality & durability. Most of them can be purchased in tarnish resistant finishes, as well as selling bare copper so you can age it yourself after wrapping.
