FNM is not Belgian. That's the headstamp for Portugal. You'll still find 80rd boxes of FNM 8mm Mauser made in the 1970s and 200rd battle packs of FNM 7.62 NATO ammo also made in the 70s.

Great video! Always a pleasure to watch. Have whittled my LE collection from 10 down to 2, but have often wished for one in 7.62. As long as I am wishing...it would most likely be a No4 though.

I just have the two Indian 7.62s as ammo is so available, but recently at a gun show there was a really tempting No. 5 "Jungle Carbine." I ended up leaving with a Brownells 601 instead.

Yhup. The circle cross denotes a NATO loading. Both Federal & Winchester sold 223, 308, and 9mm ammo with the NATO headstamp that is not 5.56 NATO, 7.62 NATO, or 9mm NATO. They were just using surplus cartridge cases they made at the Lake City (LC) Army Ammunition Plant. You'll often encounter the 55 grain, M193 5.56X45 loading in a case with a NATO headstamp. NATO never adopted the M193.

That’s not ball powder - it’s extruded, like IMR3031 or similar. It’s *NOT* something like H335!

In the intro I use an old picture and just update the text every time. If you wait until later in the video I show the actual powder that was in the rounds.
