Since your bar is not long enough to cut through the whole stump, you could cut to the center the normal way, then drill a hole exactly in the center of the tree, about 3mm diameter. Drill it deeper than the thickness of the slab. Put a small steel rod down through the hole and through the hole at the end of your bar. You have created a pivot point at the center of the tree. Use your ladders to keep the thickness, and cut circular around the tree.

Thanks for the reply. I love old material, my father and I built a cabin 😂in the hills of Southern Ohio. I finished the interior with reclaimed 100+ year old rough sawn barn wood. Some of the planks were 22" across × 16'. My wife and I are here in Philippines for the winter and a neighbor cut down a teak tree, the growth rings were only 1/8", the trunk was 20" 8:32 across, that works out to around 160 years. He said his plan is to make a bench . What did you end up doing with the slabs you cut from that stump? That would make a beautiful poker table.

ну обычно громадный стол под заливку с основой , реже декор на стену , но в очень большие дома и огромные комнаты , только под заказ ибо цена спила это всего то % до 10 от цены изделия , там обычно на 2,5 м диаметра уходит в среднем 250-320 часов работы и просто прорва материалов и лака с тонами и полиролями , если вы спрашиваете столько это стоит значит это вам точно не по карману

A bandsaw that large would not be portable. Easier to take the chain saw to the log / stump !!!!!

I was wondering the same thing. Looking at the rings at 4:45 it looked to me that it was only about 50 years old. I just counted about 25 of the outer rings and then estimated the inner rings. I couldn't see the inner rings very well. The rings didn't seem to get smaller as they got closer the outside. The tree was probably out in the open where it could get plenty of sunlight. Anyway, it was beautiful wood.
