I didn’t ride out to the rigs often, but it was always a thrill ... for the guys that did it every two weeks, not as much. Sat in the jump seats. Was always amazed at the windows vibrating as the air pressure moved them in and out and the sound.

I grew up in northern Canada in the 70’s in what was a unique setting in a remote location. We had Hueys and Hughes 500’s and Jet Rangers doing mineral exploration work hauling samples and equipment coming and going constantly day in day out landing just across the dirt road from my house. No fences or anything separated their area off we just knew not to ride our bikes and play over there. To me I didn’t think anything of it and it was all just background noise with the other interesting things taking place at that place. Seeing this take off that close took me back to those days. 🙂

That is so cool, that must have been a lot of fun getting to see all these helicopters come and go up there. Sounds like my dream spotting setting!

Really awesome quality as always and a great sound by that chopper! Just out of curiosity, what camera do you use?
a plane doesn't need to warm up this long. Before it takes off. To first make certain. The rotors are not going to fly apart and disintegrate. And so I guess you need to warm up choppers for a while? And even then? It may or may not work correctly? You'll find out at altitude. Whether you will live or die. In mere moments. What a thrill! How exciting! Everybody's going to want to experience that! What fun! Everybody's going to want to do it! We don't have enough helicopters? So not everybody will get to risk life or limb. For a fun helicopter ride. Damn! RemyRAD
