Nepotism and celebrity culture is too prevalent in the industry. Large fashion houses are somewhat dominated by favouritism towards those who will give power and influence to the brand solely by name/externals rather than character, etc. There was a time when personality seemed to have a greater impact, especially when I think back to some of the "unconventional" models of the 90s. The fashion industry has become more "Instagram-esque."
