Hi guys! This is my 9th Thrift Store Makeover (also known as a Thrift Flip!!). This is a series popularized by ‪@MoriahElizabeth‬ where you take old items and refurbish / upcycle them into something new. In the sewing community, a lot of people call this type of video a Thrift Flip. Some of my first art videos on KZfaq were actually Thrift Flips with clothing items! In this video, I purchased an old jewelry box from a thrift store and gave it a makeover using some acrylic paint and posca paint pens.

About me:
Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. Oh, hey, I actually know that song--it's "Love Story," from a movie made in 1970. The original is very pretty, but of course the little music box is old, damaged, and probably cheap. My sister was into vintage music boxes for a while, and that song was popular in them at the time. Fun video! The makeover turned out very fun and early 2000s =)

It might be that the chemicals have separated slightly in the mod podge, especially if it's a matte one. You just need to stir and shake it up, and it should be fine.

It turned out really pretty!! 💖 A cute little wardrobe style storage container! 😍 Some of the ribbon could hang from the necklace holder. It's so sad when a music box gives up it's beautiful original song. 🎵🎶 It's more like a beginner practicing a music lesson. Nowhere near the original version. I'm glad someone could identify the song for you. If only taking it out or covering it were easy to do, cause that box is going to play a note or two until it is completely unwound and likely startle you!! 😱 It's like it is haunted when they die!! 😂

Happy Sunday! Thrift Store makeovers are so much fun! I think the colors on the finished product are so lovely and work so well together. It's hard to pick a favorite drawer, they're all so fun and unique. I know you filled up the drawers, but are you planning to hang anything on the necklace part that spins?

I think you should do blue surrounding (whatever we say that) with cloud ☁️ drawers or rainbow drawers that would have looked amazing but I still like you idea alot

I’ve seen a few people give these jewellery boxes makeovers but never understood why no one removes the door to paint? I would have removed the music box too. If you twist the knob in the wrong (anti clockwise) direction it comes off then you can unscrew the rest of it. I did that once as a kid and made a secret compartment where it had been 😉 of course I didn’t have anything worthy of putting in a secret compartment but if I had, it would have been awesome.

OH MY GOSH I HAD THE SAME MUSIC BOX!! I ALSO DID MY 1ST THRIFT STORE MAKEOVER WITH IT! It's such a coincidence! (back when i didn't have a channel) I painted it white and the drawers pastel rainbow colors. You're makeover looks SO AMAZING I LOVE ITT!!

I had a jewellery box just like this one and I was just so excited to see one that was identical to mine being painted it turned out so beautiful!!! I to this day can't even remember what happened to my version of this box but I loved it so much and miss it.. The music is creepy and for sure the music box itself is haunted or something because you kicked it and it made music.. lol..

I really enjoy your content, but so much of your footage is pretty dull. You may want to try brightening or adding saturation in post.

Thank you So much for giving me a shoutout it literally made my birthday and I will tell you a secret it's not secret but is something about your country and India so where you live you should be 2 p.m. 29 August but in India it's 1 a.m. and 30 August and birthday comes in 30 August so that's why I said you to give me a shout out on Sunday cause I knew it should be Monday in India and I love you so much
