In 2019 set my kayak in at lake Itaska. Paddled to New Orleans the River gets worse and worse. South of St. Louis recreational use disappears.

Had the settlers sat down and talked with the Native Americans about the land (and heeded them) the natives could have given them some lessons in ecosystems which would have been some of the same conclusions that were come to at the end of the documentary.

Living with the reality of decisions that our ancestors made is what we see when we use our hindsight vision. Fixing those problems are the challenge of those who try to improve on the misguided advise and consequences. Wisdom comes from experience and finding solutions to difficult human survival and prosperity problems. We are a young country and we too share a roll in making decisions that will affect our offspring and future generations. I wonder what their hindsight vision will be.

My favorite ever soup is chicken wild rice and it has to be home made. Love the Minnesota wild rice.

In France in a region called the moors (Les Landes), in 1830, it was infested with mosquitoes, and it was marshes, they decided to plant pines and manage the forest, and since then it has been the main income of the region and the biggest manage forest in Europe.

I just saw a document flash by that said Isaak Walton. As a kid my family would go to a private Isaak Walton Park by the Minnesota river. Omg I'll never forget those huge cottonwood trees growing back in there. I wonder if that park still exists

It just astonishing to me how proud white people are of what we did to natives.

It makes me mad, sad, angry! at the people who had such lust for greed. That greed continues today. And yes, it is us so called privileged white people. When is enough enough?

I enjoyed watching this video but with great irony. The things portrayed as atrocities to "nature" are the times I've relished my whole life. Taming the land and subduing the earth as God directed us to do is what I see as prosperity. Now-that's not to say we should clear cut everything in sight. Wherever there is mankind there is opportunity for sin and improvement in our actions. But the settling of the land is a much greater accomplishment than worshipping "nature" as a god. But it should be done with purpose and thoughtfulness.

Just shows how disgusting human beings were and they still are. Reparations should be paid especially to the dear aboriginals displaced by the greed and filth of the greedy bastards who did this to all Americans.
