based on my bellroy classic backpack, those amount of organization is actually enough for commuting to work. i can carry more using pouches, but that just complicates packing even more. but i always carry a packable tote in case i need to carry more.

I love my Manhattan Portage Wallstreeter as my work bag. Beefy. Carries my laptop, water bottle, tech bag, papers, books, and many other items. I would love a messenger bag after your backpack.

I generally like to pack a small messenger bag at the bottom of my travel backpack when I go on trips and that's what I use as my day bag. This seems like it might be a decent option, but also seems like it might be just a bit too thick/take up too much space packed into a bag. I'm still waiting for the day Aer releases a Go Messenger to their Go line of bags.

That’s really minimal now that you show the details. Seems good if you travel light. A persons work briefcase is a personal statement. I have a heavy chonkey work thinkpad 15.6” and I need a bit more padding around my laptop and more padding for my shoulder (and more dedicated sleeves for my business papers man). I ended up with a more trad waterfield bolt brief and aer travel sling (brown and black options lol) for my daily subway commutes. People who wear their backpack on packed rush hour trains are a menace lol.

I love the idea of carrying a briefcase-style bag, just find messenger mode uncomfortable, if I want to go hands-free.

Do you really like this used material for black one? I was a bit dissapointed because I loved bellroy’s materials but this black material…I dont know, it is different, step back… I love the fabric used for the blue one or slate one but I wanted to have “all black” bag… so I have a dilema😂

I’m torn between this and the tokyo totepack 20L capacity. Wont be bringing any laptop just an ipad for my daily computer needs, bose headphones with water bottle is a must also. Which do you think would be the best buy between the two for everyday use?

Why do I need a water bottle holder for a work bag. Doesn’t make sense. I don’t think there’s any work bag or seen anyone carrying a work bag with outer water bottle holder

Is the laptop compartment padded on the bottom? Or does it go right to the bottom of the bag? Sometimes I set my bag down little rough and don’t want laptop to hit the floor even in the compartment.
