Belly Conklin is about to turn 16, and she’s headed to her favorite place in the world, Cousins Beach, to spend the summer with her family and the Fishers. Belly’s grown up a lot over the past year, and she has a feeling that this summer is going to be different than all the summers before. Other than the emotional drama, this scene is really important for Jere's character. We have seen how most people treat him like an overgrown puppy. We have seen how he's been trying to show that he can be reliable and responsible and be taken seriously. But here they're showing us that he really doesn't know about everyday stuff. He's not lazy or stupid, he just never had to do this stuff because his mum or brother were there. But now he has to swim in the deep and stay afloat without anyone supporting him. I think the whole house business will help Jere grow and be independent.

Jeremiah having a breakdown after being a sunshine boy for the whole first season. This scene really adds a lot to Jeremiah's character, it's important for viewers to know how he was feeling abut the whole thing. Jeremiah just got crushed between Belly and her changing choices and Susannah's cancer, and it's beautiful to see Belly be there for him at least when he finally admits how hurt he was and is.

I feel so bad for Jere he lost his mom who was clearly an inspiration to him. Then he lost belly his best friend who he thought he could rely on for support since they were both greiving over Susannahs death and she once again turned to the boy that pushes her away in his pain. I know Belly feels a connection there with Conrad but he definitely has not made as much of an effort to show love or compassion like Jeremiah always has.

I think Jeremiah just makes the show more interesting… Its Gavin , its his acting but its also the writing of Jeremiah’s personality in the tv series it’s refreshing to see a young man who has his problems but showing emotions is not one of them.

I love Gavin's charm. Obviously he's gorgeous, but still, he has the best personality and he knows how to make you feel the emotions. The crying was not totally convincing, but it was still good. For the most part this scene was great between these two especially Gavin he sounds so natural

I’m in the minority, but I loved that this season between Steven, Laurel and Jeremiah they weren’t scared to really Let Belly have it like she really deserved all the smoke, and to get everything off their chest. Last season Belly always had the tendency to criticize and judge everyone else’s mistakes like she was this pillar of morality or some kind of know it all, when she literally did what she wanted when she wanted jumped from boy to boy without thinking of the consequences of her actions she literally messed everything up just to be with Conrad only For it not to work out the way she wanted anyway, hate it or love it this was her Karma.

I feel like fans give Jeremiah unfair hate. Can he be immature and jealous at times? Yes, but that's true for a lot of people his age. I feel like people are very sympathetic when Belly and Conrad are going through something & understand that they're just teenagers but forget that Jeremiah is also a teenager who also lost his mom. Belly and Conrad were close so they had each other while he barely had anyone, not that I'm blaming them cuz I understand that they're all teenagers

What’s crazy is when you realize that Jeremiah, who is his mothers son through& through, he couldn’t leave his mom alone and was there the whole time when his mom was sick while Conrad was away at school and couldn’t stomach her seeing her like this, and true first-born of fashion buried himself in his work, and pushed everything and everyone. (granted I haven’t read the books. I’m going off of what I’m seeing in the show. It’s a theory I have, but will find out as more develops.

I think this was really important for jeres character. He has always been the one that’s always smiling, he said it himself. Now whether or not he actually was genuinely smiling or not in season 1 and before Susannah being sick and everything, idk. Regardless, a lot has happened and he can’t keep doing that/start faking the smile. He doesn’t want to be the life of the party or the happy one, and it’s exhausting trying. This breakdown is a step towards a mature Jeremiah and I’m so happy for him❤

Jere ❤❤❤❤ He deserves all the love. Honestly..I feel jeremiah cheating on belly in the 3rd book was so out of character. This is the real Jere, he would never do anything that could hurt belly! He couldnt even stay mad at her for like 10 minutes into the meeting. He might be impulsive but definitely not a cheater. He would think thousands time over before hurting his close ones. Just how he was with Susanna.

Same!!I felt the cheating was done purposefully to assassinate his character in the book, and it wasn't consistent with who he had shown he was with his actions. All I know is that in real life, ending up with your best friend can be truly a blessing to have a friend and a lover in one. I feel like they've set him up to cheat on her for next season as they've mentioned how he hooked up with all these people even when he wasn't fine. So they're giving him history and that's how they'll play it for next season.

I want so bad to make Belly the “Villain”, but I can’t! I see so much of my own High School self in her. There were at least TWO boys that every High School Girl DREAMED would fight for her. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!! This series pushes the rewind on my own memories and dreams. Whilst I know it’s more of a “Teen drama”, it takes so many of us “grown up teens” 😜 back in the day when flirting and making out was the “end all, be all”
