Hailing from the abysmal forests of the mystic North, Belzebubs has possessed a stealthy, cult status throughout their existence. Originally summoned together in 2002, the band has succeeded in creating a thrilling blend of melodic black metal, guttural growls and vivid solos, forged with progressive twists and cinematic soundscapes. Accompanied by a new drummer and a three-record-deal with Century Media, Belzebubs finally feels fit to take on the (under)world. “Cathedrals Of Mourning” is the band's first second single, taken from their upcoming debut album, “Pantheon Of The Nightside Gods”. It was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who's also responsible for the sound of Dark Funeral’s The Secrets Of The Black Arts, Dissection’s The Somberlain and many more.

Oh yeah! Black metal leaves itself wide open for parody because it relentlessly just takes itself too damned seriously! This is why I love Belzebubs; the music is outstanding and the imagery is equal parts loving tribute and loving parody, and it works really well. The part where Hubbath's whirling in the snowball near the end always makes me laugh every time I watch this video.

the black metal has been phaggot since like the 90s. no one took this shit seriously after like 97. It just turned to death metal where the people in it act tough but never do anything. Like how punk turned into blink 182 and how glam metal kids were more hardcore than modern kids. the never forget the never forget it actually started on people having some sort of serious values and now just pop culture bulshit

I always find myself skipping back and finding little details in the animation that I love! Like the eyebrow raise from the keyboardist to the character walking out of the ski resort then calmly turning back after seeing the snowball. I love this so much!

i can totally understand you. Except for the comedic stuff these videos are epic metal videos(at least they would be in live action). i'm torn in multiple ways by these cartoons. i don't know how to convey it effectively, but i'll try. i'm torn, because i think the characters look great while i don't realy like this art style. i'm torn because, you get goosebumps, because whoever made this probably a very artistic metal head. the poses, the mimic, everything captures what you feel is apropriate at that given moment in music. why do you want to introduce something you love to the world in a satirycal way? i like it, but i don't like that something that should be a rebellion is presented by someone, who is obviously into it in a way that "rebells" against it. mocking counter culture with mainstream culture(art style) while being part of said counter culture. listening to black metal with this cynical out look feels a bit like watching a movie constantly reminding your self that they are actors, they don't realy die there, there is a huge crew around them with expensive equipment, that is cgi. it takes away that mystic vibe that makes black metal great. we as metal heads can apreciate the self irony, but otherwise this art style drags it down to children's and mainstream air head entertainment levels. but i totaly apreciate the animation and everything(>torn) the music is great, but soulless btw. tl;dr i was introduced to black metal in the late 90s as a teen, so sometimes i'm prone to being trv kvltish. i go back listening to taake's bjoergvin album on loop.

This band was a gorillaz esq project whose vocalist is from the band Insomnium. If you enjoy this I highly suggest giving them a listen. One of my favorites is Heart Like a Grave
