The thing i love most about Variety is how much they make the Directors feel completely comfortable to just have a conversation about damn near anything in these Directors on Directors set. Again this felt like a conversation literally between a brotherly bond type of way, Ben giving flowers & knowledge & completely admiration being a proud brother to see Michael keep blooming. Michael completely taking the advice, showing his general great mannered self & accepting what Big Bro has to say. Man this is great i wish this was longer holy wow...such a therapeutic conversation

Absolutely love Ben's work as an actor & filmmaker, and always thought that he is a great person, with an incredibly kind & generous spirit. The fact that he remains so humble, never taking credit for his own accomplishments, but always so ready to champion others, speaks a lot about his character.

I love these because with people like Affleck, you get to see that this man really loves movies and making them. And that is fucking awesome considering how long he has been in this business and what his career has been ( awesome), that he still loves it and is so excited by it. Fantastic stuff. Michael is just the man. Cannot wait to see what he goes on and does.

i think the biggest takeaway for me from this is that Ben and Michael have been talking in private long before this interview. I hope older actors and directors have been doing this type of reaching out to the next generation. Knowledge passed is priceless.

You can tell how smart and empathetic and well-read these two are. Not speaking at each other, not just waiting to say their piece. Instead, bouncing off each other and treating this as a true learning experience and a Q&A. All the smiling and laughing between them feels rare in Hollywood. I love how much Ben glazes him and talks him up at the end, like damn. Wonderful convo.

Dudes been in the game for over 3 decades… he was in 35 things before his directorial debut in 2007 for Gone baby gone … 35 titles before that lol, Forget that you piling Pearl Harbor on top of Armageddon on top of Good will hunting lol. Shiiiiit. He’s in so much shit before 2007, and then he has a good run .. piggybacks off gone baby gone and Directs and stars in The Town, 2010, piggybacks off that shit directs and stars in Argo 2012 , which he is so to speak acclaimed for the most ( as far as directing at that time ….Where does this underrated come in ? Lol .. in fact I think they used to label him the exact opposite 😮😂.. ? …

I enjoyed this one. Often, it's two people just trading compliments, which isn't that interesting. They talked about their craft, their evolution, working with people they know, aspirations and more. Mostly, it wasn't a PR campaign, they were genuine, no social agendas, or tearing down others, it was about their journey and getting better at their craft.

I’m one of those Ben affleck fans that “believe” in him. He made me believe, dare devil was a movie he didn’t like but watching that movie as a kid… I believe just because you have a shitty start in life… doesn’t mean you can be a super hero… I really thought he was blind as a kid. He gave me hope and I will be a ride until the mother fucking wheel fall off. Perseverance in life, is what made you great!

Michael B. Jordan is so good looking that he doesn't need to be a great actor, But he IS a great actor because he loves the craft. Ben Affleck could have rested on his laurels after his very first script, yet despite everything he's been through in his personal life, he's never stopped evolving as a creative. These are two incredibly admirable individuals, and two of my absolute favorite artists working today. I love these mfs

I agree to what I loved with Ben out of all the people Jlo been apart from Marc these are the only guys that admire Jlo for who she really is and knew the real Jennifer not the one the media betray her to be. The two men I mention admire now Mrs Jennifer Affleck without any agenda behind it. Unlike Previous person she was with.
