To be correct in 1939 commies took back from Poland what Poland gen Pilsudski invaded in 1922 : half of Lithuania, western Belarus and western Ukraine and gave it back to whoever it belongs to. After WW2 good generous uncle Stalin granted big chunk off Germany to Polkas who did not really deserve it as it proves today. @@mutantpig4218

most (if not all) what the US gave to Ukraine so far has come from the junk drawer. 90% of the money allocated by Congress remains in the US and is used to buy new stuff for the US military. the rest is going to pay for the transport to Ukraine and ends up in some European countries. on another point: Ukraine was/is desperate to improve their air defense, mostly in Winter when the ruzzians tried to destroy their energy infrastructure. so far, Ukraine received 3 Patriot batteries and 4 launchers. two batteries and launchers were donated by Germany, one launcher from the Netherlands and just one battery from the US. The US Army operates a total of 1,106 Patriot launchers. In 2023, 480 were in service. one wonders why the US wasn't more generous in giving Ukraine more Patriots.

It reveals the fact that who governs eastern Ukraine is not a vital American interest. Biden also has some more discretionary spending he could do. Curious and aware people don’t watch legacy corporate trash media advertising agencies. Biden WH has delayed or slow-rolled supplies since the summer of 2022, after initial supplies from European nations were sent once everyone realized Russia wasn’t reaching their intended goals. Zelensky really threw a wrench in the cog wheels of the plan by refusing to take Biden’ offer to ride out on a plane, which would have allowed Putin to seize Kiev and then transition to an occupation. This war is poised to last at least 3-7 years at the current pace. We’re at 22 months now.

it's either shameful or stupid to deny Ukraine aid when they are fighting a common enemy by America. This got swept up into the populist trend if stupidity and eventual authoritarianism. The problem with democracies, is there there really isn't any effective emergency brake to prevent self destruction. Gen. Hodges continues to speak facts about the situation and why it needs to be taken more importance. So far this aid has been around 4%! of the DoD annual budget which would then go to US industry and economy, making it an even smaller significance.

You said it... we've been too nice for too long... Putler has deep pockets and can buy whatever he wants... which unfortunately includes some western mindshare. We need to send a crystal clear message to Putler and his Imperialist-minded cronies... let's start with banning his people (and the people of his supporting countries like Bellarusski, Hungarusski, Iranaruzzki, etc.) from the Olympics - no neutral flag bullshyt - then let's send home all the NHL players until after the war just like the IIHF bans them (NHL contracts can easily be nullified due to the war)... let Ovechkin and his ilk explain why they're home without pay before the end of the season... let's give all dual Ruzzki/Western nation passport holders a 60 day window to decide which citizenship they cherish (because they can't continue to have both)... let's start calling out by name all companies that are averting sanctions and doing business w Ruzzki... let's question why anyone believes Ruzzki is great, Ruzzki is good, let us thank them FOR WHAT!?! Ruzzki's been a total fucking menace on sooo many societies for way too long and clearly they're not going to change... so we need to change. I pray in 2024 the "free" world wakes-up and smells the BS and does some of the above... and while Ruzzki is busy explaining what's happening "we" can send Ukraine some long range missiles without limits.

However, I read a tweet today that the Biden administration has money, more than the cited $4B, to use for Ukraine, not constrained by congress. Further, the equipment slated for replacement is still available to donate, cost free, to Ukraine. About 500 Bradleys have been given to Morocco, which is not at war. In fact, the administration is 100% at fault for the situation with congress, especially when the disastrous open border policies were a known to be a congressional priority months ago. But the administration has loads of leeway in supplying Ukraine, e.g., obsolesced ATACMS. Someone pointed out that the open border policies are so important to the administration that it seems, from the rhetoric, it is willing to risk an obvious foreign policy imperative, Ukraine’s victory, for domestic policy reasons.

By signing the Budapest Memorandum (5 Dec 1994) Russia agreed to the following: 1. Respect the signatory's independence and sovereignty in the existing borders. 2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against the signatory. 3. Refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by the signatory of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind. 4. Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used". 5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against the signatory. 6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments. I do not understand, what is there to negotiate? As a german, the situation that the US aswell other nations expect germany to be an geopolitical actor on its own, is new. i grew up in Frankfurt, not far away from the US helicopter Base in Bonames. US bases had been normal, US presence always a part of life, in a sense of friendship. Later, in the Progress of german reunification, Leaders like Thatcher and Mitterand demanded that germany has not to become too powerful. And now, times are changing. If the USA asks why they should contribute more to europes security than european allies themselves, i have no answer. I have few details on other countries in europe but i see a slow change towards a rearmament as a consequence of russian threats. as i said, slow. My country has pledged a 100b extra fund, for which mostly new equipment has been ordered, such as tanks, ifvs, F35 jets, air defense, ammunition restocks and more. its not too bad as a start, the question now is if this direction will be maintained.

As an American I can only apologize for the idiots that have made there way into our political system. Most of this MAGA crowd is supposed by Russian oligarchs. So is it surprising that the minute the Republicans got ahold of the House of representatives they shut all funding down for Ukraine. 😢

You shot in your foot, now you have the worst time of your industry for decades. Katastrophen in german economy, why? Following the boomerang sanctions, well done and now you will drag the rest of us (EU members) to the shit hole of a huge economic crisis. Germany should had been natural ally of Russia and forget the anglos, never been a good friends

If the Russians march West, Poland will fall in a day or two and Berlin on day 3. Do you believe London, Paris or Washington will burn to save Germany???
