I had a game ending exactly like the one at 31:30, in a 10/0 match... pretty sure my opponent was floored after Rf8. (*Can't remember if the rook was on the f-file but the rest of the pieces on the queenside were in the exact same position.)

first game looks like a draw. I guess if there is a time issue it may be a different story. 21:21 But Kg6 you get the knight after rook takes rook. White then takes H7 pawn with check and then A7 pawn. White knight captures on C3. and it is 4 pawns vs 4 pawns, and a rook vs knight. That should be a draw, right? Or is rook vs knight only a draw if there are no pawns?

my god Ben you used to be a terrific player. I always wondered how you got to be a GM, these games explain it. Fantastic moves. Forget what the computer says. Computer moves are for computers. You were winning from the opening until the very end against Haba. It's like you said. If there is one single move for black and a dozen moves for white, that means white has an overwhelming advantage. The computer might say "equal" but that's obviously wrong. That's the whole point of chess! We play moves that make sense. We have plans. We create small advantages and turn them into larger advantages. Computers, they can calculate 20 moves deep and watching their games is like watching an episode of "Ancient Aliens." Humans just can't understand computer games. Yes we can put "ideas" behind computer moves, but in the end . . . it's a strange alien intelligence the computers have. so yeah you were definitely destroying Haba. The computer isn't wrong necessarily it's just playing a different game than humans play. Three incredibly strong games from a fantastic young IM about to get his norms . . . except it did take you a while for some reason.

+zyffe 14. ... Rcx8 15. Nxc7+ Kd7. It's true that black's pawn structure isn't the prettiest, but he is up a pawn and it's now white who's slightly behind in development. Computer gives -1.2.

+zyffe this comment made me get scid and stockfish because i was curious so thank you. I agree with you and i have no idea... but theres some computer line that follows booting the night back after Nc7+ Kd7 Nb5 Nd6 then 0-0-0 e6 the computer puts black better. If you're curious it then says Ne2 a6 Nd4 Bg7 and so on with the eval around -0.9 -1.1 This engine stuff is fun I feel like robocop
