@@hamzz6824 Read James 2😬 “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Although you are no entirely wrong, this will explain more. It’s a two way street🥲

@@hamzz6824 wrong. Look at James 2:14-26 “14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? 17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 Indeed someone may say, “You have faith and I have works.” Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works. 19 You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble. 20 Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works. 23 Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called “the friend of God.” 24 See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route? 26 For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”

As a Jewish believer in Jesus, I am more than surprised since I have previously agreed with just about everything Ben has said. His take on the difference between Christianity and Judaism demonstrates at best that he is significantly uninformed on this matter. A stark contrast to how informed he is otherwise. Yes, we must trust and believe in Jesus for our salvation, but if this is all there is, then how shallow and self serving this would be. But, the Good News for Ben and the rest of us is, Christianity is about so much more! This is based on the eye witnessed and documented examples that Jesus taught and lived out. As Jesus confirmed, the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor as ourselves. What does this look like? As God and man, Jesus perfectly demonstrated this for us as He lived out His sacrificial mission while considering and caring about the interests of others before His own. Unlike all of us, everything Jesus did was for the sake of others and was motivated by His pure love. Why? Because God is love (1 John 4:7-21). As believers in Christ / Messiah, we are called to live a life worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4:1-3). Jesus was (and still is) the way, the truth and the life who was also the Master at demonstrating what a life of love, service, and purpose should look like. He equipped those who trust in Him with the Fruit of the Spirit so we can bless others on God's terms and not our own. As believers in Christ, we are called to live out His will not only in our lives, but also in ways that He wants to use us to bless others. Ben covered the first greatest commandment, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." Since Jesus immediately followed up with confirming the second greatest commandment because of how important it is to Him and for us to live out, I hope Ben will look into, consider and become informed about the other parts of what Messiah Jesus was and still is all about. As was and is the case for me and all of humanity, if Ben will one day choose to admit he could be wrong and in need of God's forgiveness, then pray and ask God to reveal the truth to him, Ben will then be ready to begin his worthy journey. But, only if he does so with an open heart and mind, as free of other agendas as possible. In this case and as Ben stops leaning on his own understanding so he can receive God's (Proverbs 3:5,6), it will be impossible for this journey to not change his heart and life for the better and forever.

They're not the ones fighting. They're the ones being massacred though. Not ONE Palestinian has lifted a gun to an Israeli, yet Israel still murders them with Christians blessing them, with Christians telling them that they support them. Support the Jews? Who believe that Christians are Pagans and Idol Worshippers and who are going to Hell? That Muslims will go to heaven but Christians are ALL going to hell? You support them? These people who have murdered thirteen thousand children in just four months. In the Russian/Ukrainian war, that has been fought over two years, 500 children have been killed. The world condemns it. In Christian, Christ fulfilled The Law; no longer are Temple sacrifices necessary because Jesus is the eternal sacrifice. This might be what Ben meant when he said "Everything flows there from." Also, I would argue that Christians don't "have to" live out their faith through actions so much as Christians believe that through faith they are offered a new life by which they can stop living in death and start living in life. To not live out your faith is to simply not live the gift you were offered and instead live the life you were saved from having to live.

Where the church cherry picks and chooses which deeds you need to perform and not perform, which laws to follow and not follow from the old testament. Also, that seems to contradict what Paul, the writer of 1/3 of the new testament and the author of the earliest writings of the new testament, Paul talks about faith without deeds being better than faith with deeds. He literally goes on talking about Genesis where Abraham was going to offer his son Isaac to God and somehow ignored that God says in the text that Abraham was considered righteous by the display of his faith in God by doing what God says and going up to offer his son, as God commanded.

I see it less as an act of gratefulness and more the reality of salvation. As I see it what you are being saved from isn't just the after-death penalty for sin but from a lifetime of living in that same kind of death. If at the point of salvation you don't want to live a better life then you don't understand what you're being offered salvation from. Sinful actions are infused with death and destruction, so living in them is like a nearly drowned person whose been fished out of a stormy sea and into a dry boat going back for a quick swim.

With Christianity, when you have accepted Jesus and have faith, the natural outflowing of the faith and love for God/Jesus is the natural desire to help others, to do as Jesus speaks about in the bible for others. So.... both do good things for others, but one pours out from their acceptance & faith of the Lord, the other is definite decisions to do things in order to be accepted by the Lord in their belief.

They are the source of the relationship rather than the outcome of it.

@@wip3z531 Yes, but the covenant as laid out in the New Testament in some ways over-writes the covenant with Israel in the Old Testament. This is evidenced by Peter being offered the sheet full of unclean animals and being instructed to "kill and eat." The new Testament sets out a new rule set that includes gentiles and doesn't require the careful following of every letter of the Old Testament law as Paul demonstrates when he is more lax with certain aspects of the law while ministering to Greeks and as Jesus demonstrates when he regularly disregards strict practice of the formal law while holding an even higher moral standard for interpersonal relationships and internal dialogue. In the new Testament faith in Christ in central and good works flow naturally from that faith without the rigid structure that was previously required. I think part of what creates the divide is that some of the earliest books of the Old Testament were the people of Israel's civil law. They were the legal standard required for a nation to operate somewhat functionally without a formal government. In the new Testament they were all living under Roman civil law, so while many of the principles still applied they didn't need the extensive codification and could start living based on principles rather than Biblical litigation.

This is probably the first time I've ever disagreed with Ben. Christianity is not just based on faith. He has a very limited understanding of Christianity if he thinks that.

The funny thing about this is that Christianity says you cannot earn your way to to heaven by good works, but still expects followers to do the good works. Your good works will show people how great Christianity is and maybe get people to follow your faith.

I feel if someone is Jewish, Christian, Islam, etc. It ultimately shows they are looking for truth and self improvement.. And shouldn't be persecuted for it. Force in religion only causes chaos.

No, religion 100% separates from God and is no evidence for seeking out truth and self improvement. We are all born with a conscience, meaning with knowledge, and we reject reality and truth and degrade our conscience when we worship religion and created rather than the creator. Jesus never came here for theology - He came for cardiology.
