England captain Ben Stokes paid tribute to outgoing seamer James Anderson on Friday, after England delivered a thumping victory over the West Indies at Lord's by an innings and 114 runs.
Stokes said: “He has just been an incredible inspiration to so many people. So many young people, I’m sure, have looked up to him and wanted to emulate his career, which I think is going to be very hard to do.
“The amount of games and the amount of wickets he’s taken are just absolutely phenomenal.
“Sometimes you can be lost for words but if you gave me 15 minutes I wouldn’t be able to compliment him enough.”

Jimmy should not have been forced to finish like this. As long as he is good enough,and he is, he should be picked. England will again get hammered in Australia as usual, despite all the talk of producing new fast bowlers.

As much as I like seeing Jimmy skittle sides out at home in England he doesn’t fare so well abroad. England want someone to bowl people out on away surfaces as well. Especially Australia! That is why the England management are moving on from Jimmy.
