Talking to master bassist Ben Street was a great experience for me. Right from the start I felt a connection with him, which allowed for a very candid and in-depth exploration of Ben’s musical process and experiences. He also asked me a couple of questions, including some about previous episodes and the process behind this interview series. Our conversation went on for about 4 hours and it felt like it wouldn’t have been a problem for us to go on even longer. For days I was busy processing all the inspiration I got from him, and I guess I still am.

Around the 27 minute mark, Ben says he used to be in a band with Kurt, Mark, and Jeff. For us jazz nerds it's the equivalent of Paul McCartney saying he used to be ina band with John, George and Ringo, HAHA! Your interviews are an absolute revelation man, thank you!

This is an amazing series, the insights into the real jazz world that are revealed make me glad that almost 70 years ago I fell in love with jazz and the people who play this music. Pablo does a wonderful job in revealing the humanity of musicians.

Another super interview/conversation I just got to, Pablo. Almost two years later! Doesn't matter at all. Timeless stuff. You are both so well versed in music, have rich tales to tell and bring many influences to bear in your playing. Looking forward to hearing you play together .) Best wishes.

Very nice interview, thank you Pablo for this amazing almost 4 hours. Just a small appreciaton, with dearness, the pianist name is not Federico Mompou but Frederic Mompou, cause he was from Catalonia, and his real name on his language (Catalan) is this one, Frederic. Thanks four your vídeos, Pablo!

Thank you Pablo for this series of interviews. It's so beatiful and valuable for (and also non) musicians to have the chance to listen their thougths, truths and questions in life straight from the mouth of the people we admire and respect. And I humbly think this is possible because they are being interviewed by another musician which makes everything so fluent and deep aswell.

This series is fantastic! Deep conversations fueled by a profound love of and dedication to the art of musical expression. Wonderful interview, my favourite of all of the ones you’ve done. 8 hours would have been fine too! On the streaming topic, if you like Tidal, check out Qobuz. They do a wonderful job with Jazz and Classical, they even have articles about and retrospectives of great artists and eras.

At 1:23:00 or around there about hooking up with the drums , but moreover about when Ben asks you about being asked to “ be in a zone “ by musicians who have liked a way you have sounded. It occurred to me that you both are exploring and curious to grow, and even if possible to achieve the re-living of a certain atmosphere- intentionally- doesn’t sound too appealing. An example of someone or the result of being ok to attempt to revisit a “ zone”, think of Tommy Lee Jones. He once played a head of police guy who is in charge of coordinating a manhunt . He did a good job, other directors wanted it for their movie & he is happy to perform the safe choice of executing that performance well. How many times has he been that guy in a movie. He is never going to stretch and choose to be or be asked to be the neurotic chef or the drunk school teacher or the gay bus driver
