I've been a Lakers fan since I was five. But I always respected Ben Wallace. If you really love the game, guys like him are so much fun to watch. So much dedication and focus. Simple. Just real hard work and grit.

one of my favorite players all time and I'm a Heat fan
@adamgottlieb58189 жыл бұрын
Underrated player. I'd say he's at least a top 5 defender of all time. 6'9" and wins 4 DPOY and a championship in 5 years. I think he was the star of that 2004 pistons team. probably deserved the finals mvp too considering he had to guard Shaq and Karl, but I guess stats mean more than stopping the league's most dominant big men.
@J-Hue8 жыл бұрын
Sheed actually shut down Malone. Ben did his thing against Shaq and kept Kobe and everybody else out the paint though. I think it was a toss us between Ben and Chauncey. Thought Ben should've won it at the time, but Chancey was huge too.
@adamgottlieb58188 жыл бұрын
***** Rip Hamilton was a big part of that, too. Rip torched Kobe, but scoring on payton has to be more impressive. Imagine if that draft turned out differently. Those Pistons would've been around a bit longer. Man, that team could've changed history had they drafted someone other than Darko.
@sheapablo248 жыл бұрын
I'd say top 3
@Doatello19917 жыл бұрын
+Adam Gottlieb Actually during that Finals, Kobe was the best perimeter defender the Lakers had. He managed to lock Rip up in Game 1 (and maybe Game 2) but that was it. And I think Chauncy and Ben should have been co-MVPs. Big Ben was the anchor of that defense, and Billups made key shots whenever the Pistons offense stalled and the Lakers attempted to cut the lead.

Wall wasnt havin none of that and punked bitchass artest. sent his ass to the scorers table. damn right he was chill ass fuck. dude would have got his ass stomped. smh at this people that think artest is tough. If I punk some 12 year old kid but cower to somebody a little bit bigger than me, does that make me tough? didnt think so. apply that same logic to artest cause thats what he does

The only player who was able to stop Shaq 1-on-1 (Well not the whole 48 minutes of course) I never really considered him 6'9, I think he's only like 6'6 or 6'7 but man he was a beast. One of the very few players who dominated the game without stats showing it. Such presence and toughness, that's why when he left DET I knew that that team will never make another run again. One of my top 5 favorite players of all time, Big Ben.
@juicyjfan9 жыл бұрын
If your talking all time then I disagree since wilt was atleast 300lbs of muscle in his prime so shaq wouldn't be able to bully him and Robert parish said shaq was the strongest player since artis Gilmore so there's another physical center that could handle him but other than those 2 shaq is too much for every other center
@marconastevski98989 жыл бұрын
john doe well you've never really seen wilt play shaq and -__- cmon, artic gilmore. yao ming used to destroy that guy
@juicyjfan9 жыл бұрын
Marco nastevski Artist Gilmore would shit on yao ming, he man handled kareem when he was 265 like he was a child and theirs video of that on KZfaq, also Wilt was the superior athlete even in Phil Jacksons on words and he compared the Lakers wilt to shaq and Wilt was past his prime with the Lakers and also Wilt had superior stamina his final season he averaged 43 mpg and once played 48.5 mpg In one season
@marconastevski98989 жыл бұрын
wilt was also somewhat skinny, as a matter of fact back when wilt played there was no center taller than 6'8 and wilt was 7'1 also the pace was wayyy different. It was a VERY fast tempo in which no one could shoot(with some exceptions of course) so i believe that with shaqs size and strength, he could beat wilt. Wilts stats were wayyyy overblown. If shaq played in that era he would average similar if not better numbers than wilt , Yao could probably beat artis but there is an argument for both sides. Yao has size and in my opinion was a smarter offensive player aside from his toughness, But artis was a great defender and could rebound very well.
@juicyjfan9 жыл бұрын
Marco nastevski don't get me started on stamina shaq only manged to average 40 mpg one season in a slower paced league while wilt averaged well over 40 mpg in a faster paced league and even 43 mpg His last season

+john doe 'Other than Boston, no team had an organized plan of playing Wilt Chamberlain.' -- Al Attles 1. In the 1960s and 1970s, teams allowed many points and grabbed many rebounds. In facts, the league allowed 115PPG and grabbed 70TRB for the entire 1960s decade -- for the 1962 season, the league allowed on average a mediocrity record of 118.8PPG, without a three-point line! After the merger, and the adoption of the three-point line, teams started to press, trap, rotate and space the floor on defense. Which of course, helped decreased the high-scoring games we previously saw a/two decade(s) ago. Also, defense wasn't a big part of the NBA before the merger. Teams rely mostly on one-on-one defense agaisnt Wilt Chamberlain i.e. before rules changes in the mid-2000, players had to aggressively guard someone or they would have been called for illegal defense. 2. Basketball before the NBA-ABA merger was a bigmen's game. Centers were the primary scorers of their teams. A year after the adoption of the three-point line in 1980-1981 (and many other rules changes), centers PPG and TRB dropped by at least 10%! All of a sudden, guards and swigmen started to carry offense on their shoulders and we saw great centers ala Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who took a lesser offensive role on the Lakers. 3. Kobe, Garnett and Duncan all agreed on something. They would rather play agaisnt great one-on-one defenders nightly (defenders who would be allowed to hand-check their man) than playing a complex defensive schemes as we see today. Wilt Chamberlain never played an advance defensive scheme (see Al Attles quote). 4. Basketball is now a worldwide sport; many countries produced great players and even in the USA, the game of basketball has expanded. In America, there are 5 more ballers today than 50 years ago. I'd say it's normal there is more franchises in todays NBA because there is also more athletes available. Sorry for my English mistakes, I am German.
