As an older man, and having few regrets, I don't find many things that make me long for my younger days. However, you two are so delightful I seem to slip away on a narrowboat of nostalgia that never was and think, I could be like Ben and Emily! We always walk along holding hands where the path is wide enough and I like to have a snog when no-one is looking, still find my partner sexy after 29 years together. So lucky to have found each other.

Apart from the crowds, the winter period is the best time to see rivers, waterfalls, AND canals all in full flood. So many tourists hike some distance to see a waterfall, for example in July, only to find the thing is reduced to a trickle.!!! But during the winter rainy season they don't want to come out of their houses, yet that's exactly the time they should be coming out to see the watery world. At least you clever guys know all this from experience.

Awww thank you for sharing we used to go to wales every weekend but at 77 had to stop driving at 70 and we miss it so much hubby has never driven because of epilepsy when I had to stop it changed our lives but thanks to you we travel with u and it lifts our spirits thank you you are so lovely the oldies xx👋👍🤗🤗

This reminded me of a serious conversation I had with my mom in 1968 and I was 5. We lived in the Nevada desert outside of a military base my dad was stationed. We lived on a very baron stretch of highway in the desert, just a small group of trailers, and across the highway was desert (proper desert) and in the distance was the mountains. I remember always being puzzled by the snow on the mountain tops because on the desert floor it was 102F and higher. One day I was outside with my mom and I turned to her and said "Momma that has to be smoke on top of the mountains, not snow" she giggled and said "why do you think that?". I answered "well it's so hot down here and the mountain tops are closer to the sun so they must be burning". From there we had an interesting conversation about how nature, and the solar system is full of mystery. LOL anyway it was good to think about that.

Summer in Britain - the best thing is to head to the coast (maybe a secluded remote beach) because there you've got as much water as you want ALL YEAR. Leave the watery hinterland for the off-season when it'll be reserved for the privelege few who have the experience to be able to enjoy it at its best.

Really pleased you enjoyed where I was born. You moored right opposite to my mate's house, to the left. Plus, you had a shot of our ex-cottage on the Geraint Hill. Still catching up on your charming videos and your adventures with Alan on your narrowboat. Stopped off in Llangollen on way home from a holiday in The Lyn peninsula when my kids were little (they are both grown up now) .. we had lunch in the pub right by the river and had a trip in the horse drawn narrowboat, the station there is home to the Llangollen Steam Railway & on day we came through they were hosting a Thomas The Tank Engine Day.. happy memories.. thank you for bringing them back via your video!

Llangollen is a one of the 5 wonders of Wales Toad river rail camel road by Dinas Bran. My Nain. Told me this I’ve walked oveer the Aqaduct once I was like Emily so scared you done great. I lived in Llangollen for 6 months it’s my favourite place ever xx❤

The material at the castle was probably for consolidating the stonework and would be using lime which needs temps of about 5 degrees plus to be used, so will be waiting for better weather👍

It is an amazing area, so much history of human endurance and thankfully they keep marching forward. It's videos like this that make it possible for me to keep hope alive, it's been a tough road the last few years. Happy New Year It is a fantastic town, setting and countryside. It must be one of the best mooring basins on the network!! A ride on the local steam railway is a must. Personally I arrived into Llangollen by rail, road and canal it really is on of those places that is special.
