The problem with Benavidez is that he fought his entire career in a smaller weight class, where he dominated all of his smaller opponents. Remember, David is not a one-punch knockout boxer; it's the accumulation of punches that destroyed his opponents that makes him look better. David doesn't move his head; he is a flat-footed boxer. David stepped up to the 175-pound division, and he is not used to receiving heavy punches from bigger men. Whereas Gvozdyk is a natural 175-pounder; he has the power and is a very technical fighter. Gvozdyk's only loss was to the real monster Beterbiev, who hits five times harder than the average boxer. If David fought Beterbiev, the fake Mexican monster would get flattened in less than five rounds.

I think Tank is a phenomenal talent. My problem with Tank is that he has the leverage like Canelo to choose who he wants to fight and he talks shit to Devin/Shakur/Teo about beating them easily but never tries to fight any of them. I think he’d ultimately beat them all but he’s always contradicting himself fighting lesser competition than them.

I disagree with him staying at 175 and forgetting about Canelo. As much as I like Benavidez, there isn’t enough notoriety and attention in 175lb to make Benavidez a star. Benavidez could go and beat Bivol or Beterbiev and it would be like nothing happened because only boxing fans would know who he is and not the mainstream. We live in an age where you need a lot of attention to get major exposure and unless he does something crazy it will stay like that cuz he’s way too humble in public anyways. If I were him I would go to 168lb and exercise my mandatory and if Canelo vacates the belt then I’ll market myself around that just like GGG did when he made Canelo vacate the belt. Canelo couldn’t even go to the corner taco stand without being asked why he ducked GGG

It’s a hard decision to make. On the one hand 175 its new, it’s exciting. It’s like a new job pretty much but is he going to deal with the corruption all over again? For example Sulaiman SAID the winner of Bivol/Betervie gets Benavidez. On the latest interview he was asked if a Bivol/beterbiev vs Benavidez could happen? Sulaiman response: “we can’t speculate nobody knows what will happen with his career the possibility are endless.” Bruh like cmon r we going to start this all over again even at 175??? Staying at 168 he will be on the spotlight with canelo. 175 is exciting but he going to start all over again pretty much with hurdles of corruption.
