I would have thought 78 more hp would hve made a bigger difference 🤔 I would pay for 78hp extra but definitely not for 0.41sec. $500 is an overkill

@Mikkel Nielsen It's engine HP and engine torque. Outside of the US, cars are not measured in WHP. Reaction time of the stock driver wasn't really that bad if you have a look at the lower half of the screen during the launch. Rear wheels are crossing the line pretty much at the same moment. Hence, the RaceChip 640d is about half a second faster after the quarter mile so I don't really get your point to be honest. On another note, we learned that it's much easier and more trackable to measure the same car first in stock and then tuned wich is why in our newer videos, we always do 100-200 km/h acceleration runs on the Autobahn.

RaceChip You’re literally showing the cars ON DYNOS while stating the performance increase. So... False advertisement? The driver of the original starts accelerating at around 0,6... that’s half a second slower reaction time than the driver of the chipped car. Either he is drunk/high or this was done on purpose. The video on the bottom is not the same... Pretty obvious since the camera is not on the car.

@Mikkel Nielsen You are aware that measuring the car on a dyno doesn't mean that you only can measure wheel horsepower, right? If you use a proper dyno like our MAHA MSR 500/3, the dyno automatically calculates drivetrain loss, which, combined with the wheel horsepower, equals engine horsepower. This is the gold standard to measure a car on a dyno and it's much more accurate because you actually get to know how strong your engine is, independent of the rest of the car. You e.g. have higher drivetrain losses with all wheel drive cars or heavier cars, which of course has nothing to do with the engine's actual power output. Hope that clarifies things a bit... Regarding the actual drag race: Even though the RC car might have had a little better start, the difference in the goal is clearly too big to just be caused by the start. Please note that the drag race counter stars the timer only when the first tire crosses the line and not as soon as the car starts moving, so difference is way smaller than 0,6 seconds. RaceChip Interesting dyno you’ve got. How does it know the efficiency loss due to A/C, pulley friction and so on? Cut the crap. The only way to measure flywheel HP is by having a dedicated flywheel dyno. You’re estimating. Just a fancy way of saying WHP x 1,2 aka. 20% drivetrain loss. The question isn’t how much of a difference it made. The entire point is, the drag race is flawed. It shows a very inaccurate result. This is what drag strips are for. Then you would have had actual evidence of it being faster, regardless of how drunk your test driver is. It’s a good thing you don’t release any scientific papers or sell medical equipment.

No it wont.......BUT its not the engine that is the issue. All BMW 3ltr inline 6's, diesel or petrol will easily survive 400+BHP and lots more. Its the ZF 8HP70 transmission automatic gearbox you need to worry about....its rated at 700NM max torque...so anything over 700NM and you are on your own. Though less than 800NM and you should be ok, I had a 640d remapped at 68k miles, 391BHP and 775nm torque, still going strong at 109kmiles ....but don't take my word for it! Do some research. All the remap and racechip sellers will tell you its fine...but its hard to find other non biased advice.

Wrong. If you play the video in slowmotion 0,25sec you should see that the wheels of the stock car is actually moving first

The stock car starts slower at the start line because the fuel pedal response wasn’t sharp enough. But the mid performance of the race chip wasn’t looking good with only point 48 advantage.
