Bending Angle Aluminum (Kerf Cutting)

Hey there viewers. Just a quick conceptual video to provide some guidance when bending angle aluminum using a process called kerf cutting. I hope you find it helpful.

I was going to do the kerf cuts and braise in the gaps but this seems a bit easier, I was hoping to not see the thicker part but it might not be too bad. Thanks for the video.

Why would you be particular about weather the kerf closes tight if you are going to cover them with a cap? Really only need to know distance between cuts and minimum kerf size.

Was your comment in response to SamoMalo2's post? You're right, a tighter seam would be irrelevant if you're using a cap to cover the bend. Good comment, @garycarbonneau499

Nice one. Was there a way to cut those tabs to be triangle shape so that when you bend the profile, they close the gaps between them?

Conceptually, yes. But you'd need a laser beam to accomplish this. For those of us who are limited to traditional power tools, the point of the triangle always going to be the width of the saw blade (~1/8") so once you complete the bend, there will always be a gap at least that big. I like your thinking though, @SamoMalo2
