Crimmm You aren't a true Marvel comics fan it seems. The people just disintegrated as well as the other superheros. That could be due to soul stone. Just like Red Skrull disappeared in Captain America (2011) and was found on Vormir planet (2018). It's only Doctor Strange who can help in defeating Thanos ,no body else can even think about it cuz there were millions of battles they had with him and they only won 1 as per the time stone . And it's only Doc Strange who saw the future. So,yeah ! Doc Strange is the key to defeating Thanos
